       I used to start many of my blog posts with deep and inspiring quotes.  Minus the deep.  Lots of times the quotes actually had something to do with that daze blog post.  Several of today's are from my sisters new Facebook sight.  "Stuff people say."  She has carried around notebooks for years, and when people say interesting things around her--they make it in the notebooks.  At one point several years ago I was in Wyoming visiting my parents and my sister, and spent the entire time trying to make it in one of the notebooks.  Apparently, and not very surprisingly most of my quotes were dumb.  But at one magical point I made the book!   I am not sure what my quote is, anymore, and have not yet seen it posted on her new page.  To date the deepest quote I have seen on her page-is number three up above.

   Enough self promotion for now!

    This is my first blog post of May.  And although I am very aware of time flying by over the last few years, I am finding it very hard to believe that -next month we will have lived in Arizona for a year now.  I am also coming very close to not having a "real job" for almost a year now.  You might have thunk I would have accomplished some things in that amount of time!  ;)   I have to wonder, and maybe someone out there in reader land knows the answer--when May Day went from leaving flowers on peoples door steps---to rioting against big business and destroying towns.  Seattle has this "fun" celebration every year.  And although this year was not any different, the breaking and actual rioting was kept to a minimum.  The police were ready this year.  

 

 

     On the same note I have been hearing about bad cops all across the nation, a ton lately.  Ones that might have gotten picked on a little to much in high school, and now use there "powers" for bad or getting even.  I must also say the cops around here--local and across the state have treated us with nothing but fairness and respect.  And we have meet plenty of them here through the years.  People in Albuquerque seem to have a reason to gripe.   Over the last year 39 people have been shot at by police, and out of that 24 have been killed!  Dully the local residents are rising up.  But is that a good idea with out wearing bullet proof vests?  Why do police departments from every town need armored vehicles.  Even more of them line even the smallest towns since 911.  How much of it is to protect and serve and how much is to become a total police state using sure fear as an excuse.  Not to get into things to deep for today, but Big Brother is getting very strong very quickly.   I just re re read 1984 the other day, and it is scary if nothing else.   Maybe more of us should do the same, and attempt to wake up a little bit. 

 

 

 

 

 

I also missed talking about May 5th at all.

I do believe no Mexicans still actually celebrate this day, unless they actually enjoy watching really white people drink a lot, cheer, eat cheap tositos slathered in mayo!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

    I prefer the more PC termage of "Vertically challenged" and my wife likes to say we are "fun sized"  but I have never heard it described as above. 

 

 

 

   True story!    For extra fun--the gear shifter on our car is always extra hot also.   So I would need two oven mitts.  Stylin'!    For extra fun, we have never had a vehicle while living in the desert with working A/C.  I would like to say you can roll down the windows and blast down the highway to kool off, but when summer really hits it is just warm air blowing in on you.

Several mini-rants, jokes, and a deep thought -thrown in to throw you off!

            Hello again!   One of these daze -you my fellow reader will learn and or sober up, and stop reading my random rambling! ;)  Today I write this just after waking the kiddos up for school.  So it is very early AND I am full of coffee!  So there will be lots of rambling to enjoy.  This has been a very great week so far!  So the grumbling will be kept to a minimum for a change.   I landed a few good jobs this week and have been busting through them.  One is a huge clean up job--were the property owners got a hold of us, sooo much stuff was left when the tenets moved out of state.  Much of it high end stuff, the draw back is we are getting paid in the good stuff.  It is all things I know will sell, but it's a matter on sitting on the items until they do sell.  And nicely/neatly storing the good and bad items at our home.   The cliff notes of all of this, if you live in the Benson, Arizona area--we have some amazing deals!   And I am beyond out of shape.  Good thing the kiddos are all in trouble at the moment, and have been recruited to help each day.   Halfway through the job, the home owners are impressed, and sending us to another item filled home next week.  So working for "free" has it's benefits.   Plus of course I love setting my own hours and such. 

      We also broke down and went to court to get an official restraining order issued on The Devil  AKA my mother in law.   We had been threatening for months, but kind of thought the whole thing would just blow over.   The Devil would not let things drop-and I do not believe ever will.   Please feel free to read past blog posts about all of this fun, and to learn why we call her The Devil.   Most of my friends that try to tell me how evil all mother in laws are, now just stare at me with open mouths and shiver a little, every time I tell them the next thing she has pulled.  Cliff notes, she really is evil, and will probably out live everyone reading this.   Anyways she is still free to push the limits with us, but many of her past actions will now lead her to jail time.  She is also free to protest in court--which would be beyond entertaining for soooo many reasons.  The largest being, that her random rambling is hate and booze fed, and it would quickly unravel her entire case.   But I really doubt she can find a lawyer that will accept food stamps and beer as payment.  She was served on Tuesday--and you don't know how bad I wish we could have been across the street when the sheriffs arrived.   I can say-that it is now Thursday and the huge crap storm we were expecting, is either going to by-pass us or is still greatly brewing.

      And now a couple of mini-rants from this morning.  Two of these I have touched on in the past.  I hate to admit, after reading over them again, they are almost deep.  Almost is the key word.   If you have any thoughts on this rambling, or anything else that passes for reading in my blogs, please comment directly to this page, or go to MY Facebook page.  The link is just below.   I must warn you that I had much coffee before typing any of these.  And that I have years of experience of arguing from my 8 years of working at Wally World.  And unless I am arguing with my wife, I will keep going, even if I am beyond losing the battle.   I also like a good conversation, although I have had few lately.   I posted all of these on FB  and am waiting for the beyond deep replies.   So am hoping that you in reader land, will reply   because I know it will be a far betterer conversation.  

      **OK--I get the fact that Big Brother Government is pushing for one unified type of global currency--BUT how is that ever going to work? I ALWAYS get behind the people at the cash register that have no clue how to use there own debit/credit card. They than attempt to write a check that is exactly 47 cents short--and than dig out the change. There isn't much easier than a debit card-accept actual cash-but heck no one understands the express check out lanes either.--Just sayin' Maybe I just need more coffee! Any thoughts on this?**


        **One more local question /mini-rant
Is it just me or do way to many local residents not use there blinkers? Ever!
We moved here in June, so it's not just a snow bird factor.
Is most of Benson cars running out of blinker fluid?
I know much of the town knows were you are driving & at what time you go there, but us newbies have no clue and enjoy a good warning about your upcoming turns. I drive a ton in SV and Tucson and don't see this issue much-just other driving hazards. Please just think about using blinkers as you navigate beautiful Benson.**

     And lastly someone was complaining about being tired of having religion crammed down there throat.   And than a local church leader responded--a lot.   Here were my thoughts...


    **Going to church makes you as much a Christian as standing in your garage makes you a car. In our travels we have meet some amazingly evil regular church goers. Along with the amazing ones. Everyone needs a time to question there faith I fought for years with mine, until our family found an amazing church in Washington state. We have not ventured to church much since moving here. But we still practice and live our beliefs daily. And our daughter explores a new type of church every few weeks or so in the area. With the enormous amount of bad we have had towards our family in the last few months, mainly from our own family. We just had to get a restraining order on the kids own grandma, etc etc---without my faith--first I would not have the will power to not fully attack these people -these "family members" that leached off us and than ripped us off and worse. But I would not be able to step back, breathe and see that there are truly good people out there. And a ton of these such people live in the Benson are for sure!  
    But many religions and people do try to force there thoughts on others. Instead of letting there good deeds transform others. I don't want someones beliefs forced on me, any more than I enjoy the networks and media telling me how acceptable being gay is. To each there own, but I don't want such things bombarded on me daily.**

                                                          That's my cue to "Shut it!"

Spell check is important---who'd of thunk!?

 

I can not spell for crap.   But most of my thoughts do not make it in the Saturday Post of on huge billboards.

And last I checked Facebook was not for the best spellers or best thinkers.

I can say my mother and past English teachers cringe every time I post a new blog though.

It is rare---but I have no comment.

 

 

 

 

     I realize I was spoiled in all my times living in Washington state--  were coffee was born, and tea drinkers get punched in the arm.  So many great coffee shops can be found, and many of my past blogs were written in coffee shops.  Enjoyable coffee shops, were the workers knew what they were doing.  The workers were also very friendly because they knew that just on the same block, you had 22 other coffee shop places to choice from.  People watching was also very enjoyable, between my typing.  Especially in a place were it rains so much.   The coffee joints around here ---beyond stink!   And that is saying a lot, since many coffee shops in Washington were surrounded by shops that sold fish.  They are hard to find, over crowded, and the workers are rude and most defiantly after a paycheck before customer service.   Just the day, at Starbucks  the coffee maker did not know what a drip coffee was!   Locally the best going out to have coffee and free Wi-Fi joint is actually Mc Donalds, sadly.  But this is a very small town.   I am often finding it much betterer to just stay home and guzzle free coffee while I annoy our dogs and duck random flying objects when the kiddos are home.    Just putting in my two cents worth.  

Black & Blue Friday!

             **"I have measured out my life in coffee spoons."**------   Is this so bad??

Right now my Monday's are my Fridays at work.

But I still like coffee!

    For more fun, during the holidaze, the isles get smaller and smaller---full of gifts.


      I have written about Black Friday before.  And it's mass ridiculousness.  We as a nation spend Turkey Day being thankful, and than go out in masses the very next day, and pound and trample each other for a $2.00 DVD, no one wants to ever watch.  This year saw an entire weeksend of shopping, wahoo!   This meant that families did not have to spend time together, and workers in the retail world were forced into the same fate. 

  I have worked at Wally World for eight Black Fridays--and can say that consuming massive amounts of coffee defiantly helps one deal with the masses!   My working daze usually included starting work at 4 AM.  I was not before aware that there was a 4 AM, but I try to learn something new every day.   I would prepare for the extra long day by just putting a straw in my coffee pot.   Pouring the entire coffee pot over your head is also advised.  It will wake you up super fast, and prepare you for the customer onslaught and possible beating you will receive all day long.   I am not going to go into the mass craziness much here today, you can go online and watch fights galore from Black Friday.  Most of the worse scenes are from Wally World stores again this year.  So congrats to those shoppers!  Being the most downloaded You-Tube videos, is your five minutes of fame!

    Working Black Friday as a server is possibly the worse day of the year.  Especially if you work  the breakfast shift.   All of your customers have been up all night, they are angry, many have black eyes, and they want to tell you about all the money they have spent.  Because they have spent all of that cash, saving cash, they do not have any left to actually tip you for serving them.  Today I start with a comical view of the crazy day.  And than I might throw in some war stories from my daze at Wally World.   I say war stories, because we really should have received hazard pay. 

                Just to put things in perspective, at least you were not this woman!  

Start planning now for next year.....

   **  The line in front of the retail store was amazingly large this Black Friday.  One man rolled up his sleeves, and started climbing over the crowd.  He made it quite a ways, before the crowd worked as a group, and shoved him to the end of the line, were he belonged.  He tried again, with more gusto.  But did not make it much closer to the door, before getting thrown to the ground.  One more attempt got him very close to the retail stores front door.  But alas, still he was moved to the back of the now even longer line.   "I am going to attempt this one more time, and if these people do the same thing, I am not going to unlock the store doors today!"  The store manager announced out loud.**

     Back in the days--when Wal Mart's actually closed, and were not all open 24/7 to be sure and suck all of the cash out of peoples pocket books, we would have lines wrapped around the store of shoppers ready for deals on Black Friday.  One year we reportedly had 4000 people at the front door.  The managers would unlock the doors and get the heck out of the way.  As the masses spilled in.    If you were a cashier, you could watch all the action from relative safety.  With the register as a buffer between you and the wild crowds.   

     Now the stores are open all of the time.  So people camp out and wait for the best deals to be wheeled out of the back of the store.  If you are one of these "shoppers" and I use that term loosely.   Make sure your key item is from electronics.  That way you can lounge and watch TV!   The furniture section is usually located across from electronics, so you can pull up a bean bag chair!  Don't knock it, these chairs are amazingly comfortable.  

     One year, last time the evil Furby was a super hot toy, that was the item everyone had to have. And of course each store got exactly 50,000 less than they needed to fill peoples shopping lists.  Anyways, at some point --while we workers were hiding in the the back of the store, we found an entire pallet of the evil toy.   We wheeled them to sporting goods, and paged out that we had found more of the "great" Furby.  None of us were expecting the huge crowd that showed up in the middle of sporting goods.  For added fun, a couple of us workers jumped on top of the sporting goods counter, and started chucking the toys into the large crowd.  It was great fun watching the customers maul each other.  Much like watching gals fight over the flowers at any large wedding.  Except that we got to experience this multiple times.  Later we got disciplined by management--but it was well worth it!  More Wally World stories soon!   I above use words like "evil" because the Furby is again VERY popular this year.   And my wife and daughter both want one.   ;)   Seems like any easy task, but they are as hard to find, as the orginal ones now are.
