Several *Mini Rants*

Good morning Sun shines!  Or at least sun shine!!  I have been talking --yes, maybe bragging about the warm weather here -in many a blog post.  Mostly because most of the people I know keep reporting about freezing there butts off.  The temperatures on the weather boards keep breaking records for this time of year, but one local station yesterday showed us in triple digit temperatures across the state---to soon!   This was not really the case, that won't happen till it really starts heating up, in May--but the computers converted all of the temperatures into Celsius--Aye, and made them look beyond warm.
It was so nice again yesterday, that the boys, Butch, and I disappeared for a nice hike.  Of course I got lots of pictures and a new Exploring blog or three is in the works.  I have been greatly slacking on my newest page---but will be really pushing on finding more readers all across the great state of Arizona and beyond.  Please check out the page and than share the link if you enjoy what you see:

I decided to get my shameless personal plugs out of the way early in this blog.  I usually try to put them at the end of the post, so like TV commercials- you can just skip over them.  Tons of new pictures coming for me to share!  We recently got a new camera--to us, and although it is a little awkward to carry along, it is amazingly fun to use.
Last post I talked -mostly complained about the joys of car hunting.   Minus any joy-for sure.  Today we actually thought our search was going to be over and we would once again be a two vehicle family.  A two vehicle family with only one drivers licence, but that is another story.  We even thought the process was going to be mostly painless.  Today we were supposed to view/test drive/buy a car that seemed to be an amazing deal.   It must have truly been an amazing deal, because the seller contacted us last night, and told us that he was sorry, but he had just sold the car.  We had already scheduled a day--today in fact, that he would drive the car to his work, and we would look at it--mind you.  I have in the past discussed how I feel about the words "I'm sorry" and how useless they are.  Useless but over used.   So I informed him how sorry we were that we had scheduled a viewing and had got our hopes up for nothing.   Again useless use of the dreaded word, because he now had cash in hand.

**"Layin' down the law at the Adams Homestead with the kiddos and April Adams Sheriff Joe Ain't got nothing on my wife."**

While I was dealing with all of this fun--my wife actually got some free time and was hanging out with a friend.  She doesn't do this much at all.  Because we have dropped most of our friends, in fact no one else can see any of my friends.  Anyways all of the kiddos have recently decided they don't have to listen to anyone else in our house except mom--if even her, so all heck soon broke out in our house.  We have been having endless problems with them acting up over the last few months, and actually discussed options with a local teen probation officer a few weeks ago.  Because of some past house members, we are now learning that the kids saw there relatives often doing many things that would easily land the doers in jail if they got caught.  Since they did not get caught, it was considered normal behavior.  And we are trying to nip these habits in the butt -before it results in actual jail time for them.  Anyways, we had a group/family pow wow last night---complete with new house rules and consequences.  We hit a re-start button for them all, but warned that if the re-set was not takin' full advantage of-- a police visit was an entirely real option.

Just after this fun, minus the fun I attempted to pop into Wendy's to grab some quick din din for her and I.  It was late, and neither of us had snagged any food yet.  The key word here is attempt.  The same way I always land behind people at grocery stores that have no idea how to use there own debit/credit card, in fast food joints--I always land behind the person that has never ordered fast food before.  This usually happens at the MC Grease pit---and although the menu is the same at every MC d's and has been very close to the same almost since they have opened, people choose to study it in depth-- while standing at the order cashier.  I have written about all of this before also.   Last night the person ahead of me had a highly highly detailed order--right down to the super sized 5 gallon bucket of soda with 13.5 ice cubes in it.  This is not Burger King people--were you git it your way!  I would have paid for everyone in the now long lines meals, including the picky eater in front of me, if the cashier would have said something like, "This is not Burger King mam, here it is our way--or the highway!"    Classic.

I used to have a regular -very calming--I will call it event, bit it was more like a feature called "mini rants."  Many of them appeared in my past blogs.  I believe you would enjoy reading them!  I have not broke out -in one in a long while.  To make up for that---I am adding extra complaining to this post.  I find it a good stress reliever, plus it keeps me from complaining to much to my wife.  I hope you also find it somewhat entertaining.  I know that when I vent in person--it is highly entertaining.  As always if you do not agree with anything you see here, please comment away!  That said, here is my last one for today.  I have had lots of issues over the last few months with local groups on Facebook that state one thing in there page description, but do not go by that at all.   When trying to push any logic or reasoning with the groups great administrators --I soon find myself kicked out of the groups.  Here are my rambling thoughts on all of this---I conveniently posted this on Facebook  of all places this morning:

I long ago learned that arguing with or without logic on Facebook is a lost cause--but I had before thought this was different on local groups. Nope! Bring out the reasoning, or your own thoughts--and you will get banned. 4 groups in 2 months. ---The first was a local buy/sell page that we got ripped off on. The page had 800 rules-none to actually protect the buyer. Next I joined a local "...Free speech/thought" page--and noticed my posts getting deleted. When I argued this logic-I got deleted. Time # three - I joined a "rants and raves page"-- I would pick topics that everyone might not agree on, and discuss them to see every ones view-- Again my posts were being deleted--When I asked for the admins definition of a "rant"-a keystone of the groups definition- the group was closed-and a new one started, this one the same, minus "rants." I was not invited to the new group or allowed to join. And just last night--A group with "sound off.." in the title--that did not really want people to say what they think. Or not agree with the large truck driving syndrome founder. I have my own pages to say what I think -but don't push free speech and key words like "vent" if that has nothing to do with you page--it makes you seem like a small d*cked member of Big Brother --Just sayin'

Because of all of this fun--again minus the fun, I am very happy that my upcoming mini trip is very near!
In just a few daze I will be taking my first Amtrak ride to visit Mark AKA Professor Getty. Residents of Palm Springs are officially warned now! Lots of pictures to come!!  This trip is well needed. Good hikes good cigars good beverages am maybe a little bromance thrown in. Like an enema for my soul lol----This again leads me to ask why enemas come in two packs??  I am in no way saying that my wife does not need a long break---but very happy that mine is coming up -starting Sunday in fact.  :)

But why risk it??

On that same note---I can zip past tons of useless information you posted about yourself, but have
no use for lists of what foods you ate today--or pictures.
Also to the people that do post everything---why do you than act surprised when
everyone knows all about you?   And Facebook knows more about you than anyone really should.
It's a mystery.

Mmmmm coffee!!

Our two babies are going to the vet tomorrow.
More on that after the scratches heal.   :)

Several mini-rants, jokes, and a deep thought -thrown in to throw you off!

Hello again!   One of these daze -you my fellow reader will learn and or sober up, and stop reading my random rambling! ;)  Today I write this just after waking the kiddos up for school.  So it is very early AND I am full of coffee!  So there will be lots of rambling to enjoy.  This has been a very great week so far!  So the grumbling will be kept to a minimum for a change.   I landed a few good jobs this week and have been busting through them.  One is a huge clean up job--were the property owners got a hold of us, sooo much stuff was left when the tenets moved out of state.  Much of it high end stuff, the draw back is we are getting paid in the good stuff.  It is all things I know will sell, but it's a matter on sitting on the items until they do sell.  And nicely/neatly storing the good and bad items at our home.   The cliff notes of all of this, if you live in the Benson, Arizona area--we have some amazing deals!   And I am beyond out of shape.  Good thing the kiddos are all in trouble at the moment, and have been recruited to help each day.   Halfway through the job, the home owners are impressed, and sending us to another item filled home next week.  So working for "free" has it's benefits.   Plus of course I love setting my own hours and such.

We also broke down and went to court to get an official restraining order issued on The Devil  AKA my mother in law.   We had been threatening for months, but kind of thought the whole thing would just blow over.   The Devil would not let things drop-and I do not believe ever will.   Please feel free to read past blog posts about all of this fun, and to learn why we call her The Devil.   Most of my friends that try to tell me how evil all mother in laws are, now just stare at me with open mouths and shiver a little, every time I tell them the next thing she has pulled.  Cliff notes, she really is evil, and will probably out live everyone reading this.   Anyways she is still free to push the limits with us, but many of her past actions will now lead her to jail time.  She is also free to protest in court--which would be beyond entertaining for soooo many reasons.  The largest being, that her random rambling is hate and booze fed, and it would quickly unravel her entire case.   But I really doubt she can find a lawyer that will accept food stamps and beer as payment.  She was served on Tuesday--and you don't know how bad I wish we could have been across the street when the sheriffs arrived.   I can say-that it is now Thursday and the huge crap storm we were expecting, is either going to by-pass us or is still greatly brewing.

And now a couple of mini-rants from this morning.  Two of these I have touched on in the past.  I hate to admit, after reading over them again, they are almost deep.  Almost is the key word.   If you have any thoughts on this rambling, or anything else that passes for reading in my blogs, please comment directly to this page, or go to MY Facebook page.  The link is just below.   I must warn you that I had much coffee before typing any of these.  And that I have years of experience of arguing from my 8 years of working at Wally World.  And unless I am arguing with my wife, I will keep going, even if I am beyond losing the battle.   I also like a good conversation, although I have had few lately.   I posted all of these on FB  and am waiting for the beyond deep replies.   So am hoping that you in reader land, will reply   because I know it will be a far betterer conversation.

**OK--I get the fact that Big Brother Government is pushing for one unified type of global currency--BUT how is that ever going to work? I ALWAYS get behind the people at the cash register that have no clue how to use there own debit/credit card. They than attempt to write a check that is exactly 47 cents short--and than dig out the change. There isn't much easier than a debit card-accept actual cash-but heck no one understands the express check out lanes either.--Just sayin' Maybe I just need more coffee! Any thoughts on this?**

        **One more local question /mini-rant
Is it just me or do way to many local residents not use there blinkers? Ever!
We moved here in June, so it's not just a snow bird factor.
Is most of Benson cars running out of blinker fluid?
I know much of the town knows were you are driving & at what time you go there, but us newbies have no clue and enjoy a good warning about your upcoming turns. I drive a ton in SV and Tucson and don't see this issue much-just other driving hazards. Please just think about using blinkers as you navigate beautiful Benson.**

And lastly someone was complaining about being tired of having religion crammed down there throat.   And than a local church leader responded--a lot.   Here were my thoughts...

**Going to church makes you as much a Christian as standing in your garage makes you a car. In our travels we have meet some amazingly evil regular church goers. Along with the amazing ones. Everyone needs a time to question there faith I fought for years with mine, until our family found an amazing church in Washington state. We have not ventured to church much since moving here. But we still practice and live our beliefs daily. And our daughter explores a new type of church every few weeks or so in the area. With the enormous amount of bad we have had towards our family in the last few months, mainly from our own family. We just had to get a restraining order on the kids own grandma, etc etc---without my faith--first I would not have the will power to not fully attack these people -these "family members" that leached off us and than ripped us off and worse. But I would not be able to step back, breathe and see that there are truly good people out there. And a ton of these such people live in the Benson are for sure!
But many religions and people do try to force there thoughts on others. Instead of letting there good deeds transform others. I don't want someones beliefs forced on me, any more than I enjoy the networks and media telling me how acceptable being gay is. To each there own, but I don't want such things bombarded on me daily.**

That's my cue to "Shut it!"

One of the MANY reasons.

Stealing is bad

**Mini Rant #15--First Hint Of Tagging, Sell Your Sharpie! **

With today once again being Friday it is time for yet another "mini rant!"  Today's rant makes number 15, which conveniently and numerically is the logic choice after number 14.  But first much rambling.  Something that has made this blog mine for sure, and hopefully kept it entertaining.  I know that lots of times, even I am surprised at the direction the blog goes on its own.  I am also surprised at how many, comas I use daily.  I think I am need of an intervention for this!  Forgetting many of the rules from school, or possibly just being out sick the day we talked about commas.  I will say that this weeks rant came from a friends grumbling.   I hope that any reader will share there grumbling.  Of the world in general, or you general dislike to something or everything I have posted.  I get very few comments on my blog, and this makes me grumble.  My stats show you readers are out there--you just are staying very quiet.   If you do not hold your anger until you can meet and or punch me in public, this is all fine.  My stats also show that I am VERY close to hitting 7500 blog views!   And for this I thank each of you!!

This is my picture, in case you feel the urge to talk to me in public about my "writing"

And now some rambling.     On this very date 35 years ago, the Star Wars Movies were introduced.  And geeks all over the world never really stopped rejoicing!  I will now claim a little bit of geekdom both for knowing this fact and for now saying "Let the fourth be with you!"  Feel free to groan now.   Yesterday marks the first cell phone brought to us in the early 70's.  I do not have a picture of one, but you all can recall those huge bricks, with a large attenea, that probably weighed more than the laptop you are using today.   I believe they came in white or white!  And could easily double as a hand weight for exercising.  BUT these phones were the thing than, and you were not kool and or really part of the working force, if you did not lug one around with you.  They as I might have mentioned were huge, and could only be used for, get this, making phone calls!  And maybe the occasional substiotion if you lost your work desk paperweight.   Other "news" today--- Today is national OJ day.  Not in the white Bronco driving, police evading, possible  killer, but the drink.  So Cheers! while you sip on your OJ, I am enjoying a great cup of not OJ.   Also known as coffee!!

                                                                      Cheers!

Today is also National become a follower of a new blog day---wow that's a mouth full!  Since you are on this page--what better place to start the trend, and than tell your friends?  OK, I made this one up, don't try to Google it, but do think about following my blog ;)
Today does start frapiciono happy hours at Starbucks.  I hope they bring back the green tea frap.  It looks much like slime, but tastes soooo good!   May is also bbq month, so get out there and bbq some food for mothers day instead of taking her out to eat.
I am very excited to relate that I will soon be a legal driver again!   This has not been true for about eight years now.  This process took a lot of cash, but is about to come to a crash, errr come to a head.   Next week I shell out some more cash, and venture to the DMV to take the written and the dreaded driving test.  I have to say I am more than a little worried.  I have not takin the driving test since I was 16 years old.   And I flunked the first time around.  Something about almost getting hit in a six way intersection.  I am such a good driver, that the Oregon state patrol decided to take and keep my licence on file, so they would have it handy the next 30 times they pulled me over.   I believe it will all go fine, as long as I do not have to drive through what I call a "circle jerk!"   Those "trendy" round-abouts that are popping up all over every big, trendy city out there.   I do not believe anyone in America actually understands these.  And my last dealing with the police in Washington involved a two lane "circle jerk" were the other driver and I got confused and just decided to drive into each other.  It was great fun for me because I did not have a licence when this happened.  Have you not been reading the same blog?   It was fun for my friend, just along for the ride, because I left him with the car, as I went to find the vehicles paperwork.  This is about when the other driver decided I was not coming back, and called the police.  It became fun for my now, wife, who was at work nearby.   She followed me back to the accident, and we both kissed butt to the growing crowd, and found paper work.  In the end I got a stack of tickets, and my buddy drove the car away.  The main problem being, with practicing driving before the DMV test--is that I do not have a licence, and can not legally practice.  I could ride my bike around and around the "circle jerk."  The odds of driving through one during the test are high.  They have multiplied in amount found around town in even the year I have been gone.
This is were my "mini rant" could start.   And may next week!   The DMV is possibly the worse place to visit around.  Especially in Oregon and Washington were you can not do things like register your vehicle or buy new licence plates.  That is a separate building completely.  But today the state paid workers were actually amazingly helpful!  I did not have to raise my voice once, and the waiting time was amazingly quick.  Although I did not leave today with an actual drivers licence.   I hope you all keep me in your thoughts, as I hope to be a driver again by next week!  Both for those of you that want rides from me.  And those of you that will soon have to be sharing the roads and or sidewalks with me!

And now the Actual mini rant!

As I said, this one came from talking to a friend of mine.  And I never really asked if I could vent on this topic, but why would that stop me?   I do know he reads my almost daily rambling, so I will soon know if this bugs him or if I vented about the topic properly.   It kind of sorta goes with the recent riots in Seattle---needless property destruction.   Breaking windows of big business does not hurt the CEO's paycheck in the least.  It hurts the little guys that run the now damaged stores, that now have to replace all the windows.
Today I am talking about taggers.  Not people that tag themselves in pictures on Facebook.  Although that too can be annoying.  Mostly when they tag themselves in a picture of yours that has no people in it, what-so-ever.   But taggers armed with spray paint.  You see the "art" every were.   And most of it is far from pleasing to the eye.  I say most, because some really is amazing art.  I watched a documentary on Netflix a few months ago about  street artists.  Most of these spend nights putting up there own art--posters, etc.  And much of it really is art.  In fact people with way to much money lining there pockets, will line up to pay huge bucks for the art in framed form.  Something they could venture into an alley, take a picture of, and have for free.   It is amazing what many people would rather have than money!   Much of this is amusing and pleasing to the eye.  Although it is illegal, they are not trying to vandalize.   Spray paint is just vandalism in almost any case.
I recently had a small town tagger try to explain how worthy what he was doing really was.  Try is the key word here.   He mainly focused on how kool it was to have YOUR phat tag on a building or object.  With your tag on top of the pile of paint, you "owned" that spot!    But come on---everyone knows this man does not own Costco!!
I guess what bugs me most is because of spray paint taggers and those that choose to huff the paint, I now have to be carded at places like Wally World if I wish to buy spray paint.   It is actually amazing how many items these type of stores now have to verify your age before you can buy.  Wally World now has to card everyone buying booze--no matter how old they are.  All in an effort to never get in trouble or blamed for anything.
Possibly more annoying is the trend I have recently noticed, mostly because my friend brought it up.   Taggers that use Sharpie markers to write on things.   If you can't afford spray paint, or are not old enough to buy it, find a new hobby to make you look bad-ass now!   Because using a marker to  write on things is something our kids out grew on there 4th birthday.   You are the farthest thing from kool I can think of.  And I want to "grade" your artwork with a red marker.   This puts you a step above the restroom art---filled with rhymes involving farts and body parts.  And your ex's phone number.   Although these do amuse me when I am forced to sit in a public restroom.   Reading them and than trying to figure out how to get out of the stall, without touching anything.   And than rushing to buy disinfectant and bleach!   If the last paragraph describes you, please stop!   Before I find a need to buy a 24 pack of red markers to grade your drawings and some spray paint, so that if I catch you with a sharpie, I will spray paint a target on the back of your t-shirt or wife-beater.

The best part of it being a new year, is people can stop telling me, they will see me next year.  And than laughing like it is the most brilliant New Years line ever!  I can not say this---but some of you probably can:

**"I have not showered since last year!"**

So I have been told that what you are doing at Midnight on New Years Eve will be what you are doing 80% of the new year.   I really can't recall what I was the year before.   And this year found me in bed, but not asleep, because I had early work the next day.   So, I guess I can at least half hope that's what I am doing all year.  It also means I am only a little old, because I was only in bed because of working so early.   Not because I had changed into a new set of Depends at 10 or anything.

**"Someone called me immature yesterday, I nearly choked on my Lego!"**

With the new year, I have been going through a lot of my old posts on here.   I was surprised the flood of memories they brought back, even greater than reading my journal.   Which mostly just says, work sucked today.    I found myself surprised at a few other things.   Like what a positive spin I was able to put on my rambling posts about touring Sheridan.   How many times I laughed while reading old posts.  How much things have changed in the last year, and really stayed the same for me.  And how many things in my posts deal with coffee!   Coffee really is my best friend by far, but wow!

I have many new ideas in my head for this year with my blogs.  And hope that you all stick around for the ride.   Things will just get better!   As always, please leave comments----Good or bad, so that I can keep improving.   I really enjoy my exploring blogs of past, were I take a hike and write about it with pictures.   And will be adding many of them soon.   I hope to gain some followers, since I have been stuck at 7 for months.   A big thank you to all my repeat readers!   I am going to incorporate advertising at some point soon, but not enough that it will ruin anything.   And hope to bring back several of my ideas, that have gotten lost in general.    I also hope to get back to posting as close to daily as possible.   Beyond entertaining *hopefully, these posts are an exercise for me.   To help improve my writing.  Something I love, but has greatly takin a back seat in life.   I hope to someday soon, have my own office of sorts, were I can disappear --write a blog, write on a few book ideas that are rumbling around in my head, and than continue with my day.   I believe even with a writing space, I will end up at a coffee joint with my computer many a day.
Some ideas for posts closest to the top of my head include:     A post about rentals, with my top worst living situations.      A post about with my favorite hike posts.  I like lists!    A post about my love/hate relationship with Facebook.   A sight I believe I need an intervention from.    A post about friendship.   A quiz for all my friends that do not live in Wyoming, mostly picturing wildlife pictures, and asking what the animals are.    Bringing back my "mini rants" on Fridays.  A post about my last year of life, using just songs to describe things.   One about relationships.  I only list these, in hopes it will motivate me to publish them soon.

So I just read an excellent blog about the need and importance for writing real letters.    As thank you letters this time of year, and most importantly to the ones you really love.  I know my parents would love a real letter, even though we live in the same town.   They used to get real letters from me about once a week.   And have not gotten one from me in years.   I really enjoy a real letter, but like many things --you have to do it, to get it.   And spend all my time sending quick texts and e mails.   Soon everything is said, but it is so impersonal.   And with so many quick notes, you find it hard to have anything to say in a real letter.   Anyways, I am buying some stamps, and putting actual letter writing at the top of my to do list, tomorrow.   Some very special people in my life are getting letters by the end of the week.   Snail mail is much more personable and fun, but o so slow!
