5/24/2017

Hellloooooo from the mighty desert!  Mighty hot that is.   Again I am sitting here before noon sweating my butt off.   Wondering how much I would have to pay someone to just follow me around with a misting system held above my head.  Or to spray me with a water bottle or just push me in random swimming pools.   I probably could get the last service done for free, I don't think I would personally charge anyone to push them into large bodies of water.  Although they might try to charge me, if they didn't know the push was coming, or they had there prided cell phones on them.  With out a doubt it is already a hot one today.  Welcome to the desert!  Those of you that have never been in the real heat, might not understand it, just like those of you that have never lived in Wyoming don't really understand daze that are so cold, it is a real threat to go outside, but you do it anyways because you need to get to work, or more importantly you need some Dam potato chips from Wally World.   I almost prefer cold, because you can always put on more  layers of clothes, and get inside and hug the heater and or your coffee pot.  Cooling down is much much harder to accomplish.

Today I had planned on taking a mini road trip.   Just me and the road.  But my beautiful wife ended up back in the hospital once again yesterday---I kind of made her go.   We even started at Benson  hospital, a place we both despise.   They sent her up to TMC  in Tucson last night ---a wonderful hospital.  That is just big enough, it is to easy to get lost in.  They sent her up by ambulance this time, ever have done that before.  She always gets air vacked up.  And she is usually almost in a coma unconscious---so a few trips back, when she was awake at night flying over Tucson, she was amazed at the wonderful view.  I like to say they took her by ambulance this time, because she was not in as bad of shape as usual when we get her to the hospital---I like that answer because she wasn't as close to deaths door, and because she will be out sooner.  But I have no real clue.  At any rate  prayers from any readers  would be greatly appreciated.  I am often amazed at the power of prayer, especially if the person is a non believer.   Not saying she does not believe in God, with all the close calls we have had, God has something big planed for her in the future for sure.   Anyways, the first day or so she mostly just sleeps off the sickness, so I have been fighting urges to just go to the hospital all last night.  I don't really sleep when she is in there anyways.  I give her crap because she comes out, somehow well rested and revived, and I deal with the home stuff, stress, the relatives, and work and am beyond dead tired in the end.  Although I have no idea how she finds rest in a hospital.  I did force myself to sleep in today to help keep up.  And if at all possible I will stay her last night in with her at the hospital, it's this sappy thing we try to do each time.

At any rate, with the kids and pets and not wanting to leave our house empty in general, I will be pushing back my road trip.  And going up to the hospital very soon today.  Besides we just got a temporary 2nd car, what I was going to take on the trip and I have found it is Dam near impossible to drive both rigs home by myself.  ;)  Plus I wish someone here with a vehicle and  licence in case I just get out of town and the new car decides to drop a part or engine or something.  Speaking of road trips, I was just reading about the massive mudslide along the coast line in CA.   WOW   the  road is buried ---Highway 101 if I read right.  I have been along this route several times, or at least some of it.  Beyond beautiful!      More Arizona Exploring and pictures at my blog sight          Check out my main Exploring blogs.

I actually just found this online, no I didn't write it. How many of u Steve s here can relate? In case u have not gotten the memo MANY of those on my friends list are also Steven Adams because I'm easily amused

Why is everyone always mean to Steve?

Wait Whaaaaaat!?
I didn't hear what you were saying.
I made yet another list
the deans list you say....  What!

And than ordered a milk shake and well done steak.

When customers specifically ask me to hurry the food along in a sit down restaurant, my first instinct is to go all slow motion on everything just for that table.  I than tell them that I can push there order in -but I can not make the cooks cook any faster for anything.  Hoping the speed will reflect on my tip.  It usually does not.
In a casino    customers are always in a hurry to eat super quick.
Except for the ones that realize the longer they are eating the more cash they are not losing.
I always want to send these customers to the local Mc grease pit down the road, but fast food isn't fast by any means anymore

Today Is A Day!

Hello all this fine day!   Extra hot equals fine right?  Not in my book  but many that choose and actually like living in the desert seem to believe so.  Sweating while I am typing this, is not my idea of fun.   But to each there own.  It is my day off work--and I again or still have a long honey do list but it is to hot to really do much at all today it seems.  Plus my honey is sickly today, so I am not going to far from her side in case she needs anything.  After the long work daze of late, I am usually fine with slacking on my first day off and sleeping in if at all possible.  Although I would have slept much longer if it wasn't already smoldering hot by 9 AM.  Before 11 I could not drink any more hot coffee--and I'm a believer of morning coffee   even in the desert!  We just bought a cheap but good temporary 2nd car and I had hoped to get it to the DMV or whatever it is called down here--today.  But as I said my wife isn't feeling good and it is hard to get two vehicles around by oneself.   Yes there other people to help--but I am also a firm believer in not being racist, but hating everyone equally--and that makes it hard to have helpful friends.  Actually most of the people I know out this way do not actually have drivers licences.   Or they are mainly my wife's friends and we tolerate each other, barely, for the sake of my wife.  To make a boring story short, I am not going to ask them for anything.  ;)   I say temp. car because it is cheap---because we have a plan for a betterer 2nd car in the works---and because our oldest will probably soon end up with this car.  Besides everything else it is a stick shift ---and he can sort of drive one--from our crash courses, driving together and I can drive one, but it has been a minute since I have driven one before.  No one else in the house hold can.   Although I keep suspecting my wife really can---hell she can drive a semi truck, but not a stick shift?  At any rate we are all getting a crash course on driving stick before the car is passed on to someone else.  Right now it is mainly so that I don't have to keep putting all the miles on our great car with my long ass commute to work, like six daze a week.  And so that there will be a vehicle here while I am at work.  We do live in the middle of no whereville and all.

Tomorrow I am getting the car in our name --and going on a much needed road trip.  With no real plan----Just to hit the road.  Of course there will be pictures and such up on all my blog sights very soon.   Including my Exploring Arizona blog page!    Please check this page out   and share the links if you enjoy.    http://exarizonagobensonbobcats.blogspot.com

SO my condensed Trump thoughts for what it's worth:. Trump is not going to get impeached stop dreaming and face the facts. If he does Hillary will never be president of anything it doesn't work that way. About a year from now, after the government has become super strong in the sake of stopping terrorists, and our safety ,like 1984 the book strong Some full buffoon will kill Trump putting us in full panic and destruct mode. The dollar will be useless and basic supply delivery altered greatly. We will be in a full police state as a nation. And all the Snowflakes and such will dream of Trump being president again. God will be a four letter word. The"crazy" gun hoarding hiders will unite in a civil war and fight for everyone s right, even, relunctly the Snowflakes and such---I could go on with this    but it is my condensed thoughts.   What do you think?   I love Trump   and I have said it on here before---but some crazy will assassinate him---there is just to much hate for him online, and in life.  And to many people that don't seem to fully understand consequences.  But again, what do I know??

**"Just imagine how deep the ocean would be without all those sea sponges!"**

**"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?     Pervert!"**

**"If your a server, waiter, or such and can still recall what a weekend is...... Surprise, your not good at your job. Thanks for playing!"**---  True story.  I am actually fully surprised that this post did not catch me any flack on Facebook.  Nor did the one above about Trump.  My readers are slacking off.   Or they mostly agree with me...... HA!

**I like my coffee  how I like myself :
Dark, bitter, and to hot for you!**

So last Sunday was National Waiters day.  I am not sure what that means---but I really thought we should have got a big cake at work.  I guess keeping our jobs was our "prize" once again!  Anyways you can celebrate this --if you missed it, next time you go out to eat   by leaving an extra big tip.

So awhile back I actually had a customer ask me the difference between our fish platter and our shrimp platter. I had to do a triple take to see if they were joking. They were full serious so I attempted to be gentle. Ummm one has fish and chips and the other has shrimp and chips..... all the while I was thinking , and if our fish and shrimp have sex THATS how our onion rings are born!!
They say there is no such thing as a stupid question---especially when you are getting hired at a new job.  But this simply is not true   especially when you work in retail.  I usually hold my tongue with my replies and stay out of the managers office.  ;)

OK!

Hello everyone this sun filled morning!  If you are not also enjoying coffee right now, I am not sure how much I can help you or continue talking to you.  ;)  It is still cool enough outside to enjoy coffee without sweating from the inside out.  But it already looks like it is going to be a really hot one again today.   I do really enjoy that the hottest part of the day --most daze finds me already at work, were there is A/C and some what cooler temps.  Although while I am still sweating --from moving around so much, the customers are usually freezing.  Causing them to order coffee and the dreaded, hot tea!  Even when it is over 100 outside.  Hot tea takes so much preparation to take to the customer and is dreaded by servers every where in any climate.  I hold my own special grudge to it, just because it is already so hot here so many days.  I want to yell at the customer, and remind them that they are in the middle of the desert.  Taking them a regular iced tea---and than having them take  there iced tea outside---were it is full on hot--hot  and very soon it too will be there Dam sacred hot tea.....   I have not yet been dumb enough to say any of this to an actual customer.  Maybe practice this line while prepping all those hot teas to take to the chilly customers.  This may change after the fifth day in a row it is over 100 outside, and we have 100 hot teas served in one day.  ;)

As always thank you for reading this very blog page!!   With 700+ posts to roam through, surly one of them has made you laugh if even just a lil bit.  I enjoy the past posts because writing them is a stress reliever, for sure.   I can vent and randomly ramble on without bugging my beautiful wife.  I can show off my pictures, and Exploring, and my great attempts at wit.  I also enjoy ---how for me, it is like a journal  many a time.  And an easy way to keep my parents updated on stuff.   I also like to post about coffee ---just a lil bit.  That said, I have no idea why you are here.  But thank you!!   I have MANY updates and pictures for my Exploring Arizona blog page coming.  In fact I just posted a new one a few nights back.   Please keep checking out the page and share the links if you enjoy what you see!!   I do believe another Bisbee post is next up for this great Exploring page     picture filled of course!     http://exarizonagobensonbobcats.blogspot.com

And now your moment of Zen for today    not a calming picture   for a change ....

**"Just imagine how deep the ocean would be without all those sea sponges."**

So our newest server at work --the one I was training on mother's day  --the one that was not officially on the floor by themselves yet, but was going to be yesterday--just quit.  Since I was the last one training, everyone asked what I had done to them. And for once, I wont take the blame.   We are losing workers like crazy and it is amazing to me how one can go through so much training, weeks of background checks, etc and than be like, I am done.  Thanks for playing.  Some people should not ever be servers, but with out trying it, how would you know.  I should not ever be a server--ever   but my bosses and my tips say otherwise.  But in a casino this size, you say   lesson leaned, and snag a job that fits you.  I love my job, for the most part.   OK many a day I just love my tips and how I have amazing back up and support from my top managers, that was a long time coming for sure.  Anyways we are again back from having to many servers per our shift, to barely having enough.    This of course increases tips ---if you play your serving cards right and increases customer frustration at the same time.

I so can't wait till the monsoon season starts here!   Although our roof could use some help before the rain hits full on.   Most daze right now it threatens to rain, but nothing falls out of the sky.

Exploring After Sawmill Fire

**Another great post first published in my Exploring Arizona blog page.  Check them all out.  Many updates in the works.   http://exarizonagobensonbobcats.blogspot.com   **

Hello readers!   I have had way more time in the last few months to get out and Explore, but not enough time to update and share my adventures on this very page.  Or to promote this page much.  I hope this will change soon!   I have so many new pictures and updates for this page, so please stay patient and enjoy the many Exploring posts already up.  And share, share, SHARE this page if you like what you see here!!    My longest running blog page gets updated much more than this fun page, and also has lots of Exploring and pictures to enjoy    please feel free to wander around this page also any time you wish---  It is now open 25 hours a day, for your convenience.  ;)  www.wyomingjack.blogspot.com

I have been writing and talking about fires to much in the last few months.  Forest fires are amazing --and amazingly destructive at the same time.  They are also a part of life, one of the few disasters that can happen pretty much any were you choose to live.  Through all the destruction ---new growth can soon be found.   The Sawmill fire claimed a lot of land and was one of the worse fires this area has seen, for years.  Bisbee just had a fire, that could have been much worse.  Luckily they put it out within 24 hours.  And no one was hurt.  Only a half dozen homes were damaged, amazingly since the whole area is surrounded by woods.  I just saw a picture from Bisbee showing the pink dust -dropped out of the airplanes over fires -all over houses and there belongings.  The home owners said they would rather have everything pink over a burnt down house.  But one has to wonder if the pink would ever come out of there stuff?  At any rate, last week I ventured past the fire line of the Sawmill Fire and got some pictures and some Exploring in.   There are some amazing pictures online of all of these fires, but I try not to use any pictures of others on this blog page.   First here are some pictures I got one fine evening while the fire was still burning----Non show the fire, because I could not drive close to the fire zone at all.   Although at several points I could see burning desert areas far off in the distance.

Most of the time road closures are just a minor set back, but when there are police and fire involved--I stay out.

Monument just behind the flashing closed road sign.
Were I turned around.

Most of the pictures this evening had a spooky appeal
because of all the smoke in the air.

Neat barn that is falling down
just out of Benson--on the exit to Sierra Vista, the truck stop
and McDonald's

As I was driving up the sun was hitting it just perfect.

Just beyond the barn.

From atop the Marsh Station exit.

Time to head home.

Everything in the desert is in blow right now.

Searching for fire damage.

Pink fire stopper dropped out of airplanes during the fire.
On top the still far away hills.

So many trails   so little time!

Near the boarder check station I turned around
I have never seen a tower with windmill blades on top of it before.

Neat trees and clouds were I turned around.

Pink weeds from the spray.

It was very strange to see this on one side of the road and tall weeds on the other.
Fire makes its own path.

New growth was budding already budding all around me.
Although the whole are still smelled of fire.

My shadow helps show contrast of how dark the land is now.

More pink weeds
and full on living and growing plants just on the other side of the road.

This cactus and roadway got hit pink also

More budding growth in the middle of destruction

Storm trying to move in.

I hope you enjoyed this little post even half as much as I enjoyed making it or while out taking the pictures.  Although there are no actual fire pictures here while it was burning.

Many updates and new pictures in the works!

Right now most of the overhead ADOT signs include
"Exploring" in them.  Fans of this Exploring Arizona page?
I could only hope.

;)

As always    HAPPY TRAILS ARIZONA!!
