Several *Mini Rants*

Good morning Sun shines!  Or at least sun shine!!  I have been talking --yes, maybe bragging about the warm weather here -in many a blog post.  Mostly because most of the people I know keep reporting about freezing there butts off.  The temperatures on the weather boards keep breaking records for this time of year, but one local station yesterday showed us in triple digit temperatures across the state---to soon!   This was not really the case, that won't happen till it really starts heating up, in May--but the computers converted all of the temperatures into Celsius--Aye, and made them look beyond warm.
It was so nice again yesterday, that the boys, Butch, and I disappeared for a nice hike.  Of course I got lots of pictures and a new Exploring blog or three is in the works.  I have been greatly slacking on my newest page---but will be really pushing on finding more readers all across the great state of Arizona and beyond.  Please check out the page and than share the link if you enjoy what you see:

This page gets updated first.      And is great for leaving comments.  Each comment from good to bad to ugly--helps me make my pages better.   Your complaints also make me laugh!   And laughter is a good thing.
Exploring with Wyoming Jack/Bobble Head

I decided to get my shameless personal plugs out of the way early in this blog.  I usually try to put them at the end of the post, so like TV commercials- you can just skip over them.  Tons of new pictures coming for me to share!  We recently got a new camera--to us, and although it is a little awkward to carry along, it is amazingly fun to use.
Last post I talked -mostly complained about the joys of car hunting.   Minus any joy-for sure.  Today we actually thought our search was going to be over and we would once again be a two vehicle family.  A two vehicle family with only one drivers licence, but that is another story.  We even thought the process was going to be mostly painless.  Today we were supposed to view/test drive/buy a car that seemed to be an amazing deal.   It must have truly been an amazing deal, because the seller contacted us last night, and told us that he was sorry, but he had just sold the car.  We had already scheduled a day--today in fact, that he would drive the car to his work, and we would look at it--mind you.  I have in the past discussed how I feel about the words "I'm sorry" and how useless they are.  Useless but over used.   So I informed him how sorry we were that we had scheduled a viewing and had got our hopes up for nothing.   Again useless use of the dreaded word, because he now had cash in hand.

**"Layin' down the law at the Adams Homestead with the kiddos and April Adams Sheriff Joe Ain't got nothing on my wife."**

While I was dealing with all of this fun--my wife actually got some free time and was hanging out with a friend.  She doesn't do this much at all.  Because we have dropped most of our friends, in fact no one else can see any of my friends.  Anyways all of the kiddos have recently decided they don't have to listen to anyone else in our house except mom--if even her, so all heck soon broke out in our house.  We have been having endless problems with them acting up over the last few months, and actually discussed options with a local teen probation officer a few weeks ago.  Because of some past house members, we are now learning that the kids saw there relatives often doing many things that would easily land the doers in jail if they got caught.  Since they did not get caught, it was considered normal behavior.  And we are trying to nip these habits in the butt -before it results in actual jail time for them.  Anyways, we had a group/family pow wow last night---complete with new house rules and consequences.  We hit a re-start button for them all, but warned that if the re-set was not takin' full advantage of-- a police visit was an entirely real option.

Just after this fun, minus the fun I attempted to pop into Wendy's to grab some quick din din for her and I.  It was late, and neither of us had snagged any food yet.  The key word here is attempt.  The same way I always land behind people at grocery stores that have no idea how to use there own debit/credit card, in fast food joints--I always land behind the person that has never ordered fast food before.  This usually happens at the MC Grease pit---and although the menu is the same at every MC d's and has been very close to the same almost since they have opened, people choose to study it in depth-- while standing at the order cashier.  I have written about all of this before also.   Last night the person ahead of me had a highly highly detailed order--right down to the super sized 5 gallon bucket of soda with 13.5 ice cubes in it.  This is not Burger King people--were you git it your way!  I would have paid for everyone in the now long lines meals, including the picky eater in front of me, if the cashier would have said something like, "This is not Burger King mam, here it is our way--or the highway!"    Classic.

I used to have a regular -very calming--I will call it event, bit it was more like a feature called "mini rants."  Many of them appeared in my past blogs.  I believe you would enjoy reading them!  I have not broke out -in one in a long while.  To make up for that---I am adding extra complaining to this post.  I find it a good stress reliever, plus it keeps me from complaining to much to my wife.  I hope you also find it somewhat entertaining.  I know that when I vent in person--it is highly entertaining.  As always if you do not agree with anything you see here, please comment away!  That said, here is my last one for today.  I have had lots of issues over the last few months with local groups on Facebook that state one thing in there page description, but do not go by that at all.   When trying to push any logic or reasoning with the groups great administrators --I soon find myself kicked out of the groups.  Here are my rambling thoughts on all of this---I conveniently posted this on Facebook  of all places this morning:

I long ago learned that arguing with or without logic on Facebook is a lost cause--but I had before thought this was different on local groups. Nope! Bring out the reasoning, or your own thoughts--and you will get banned. 4 groups in 2 months. ---The first was a local buy/sell page that we got ripped off on. The page had 800 rules-none to actually protect the buyer. Next I joined a local "...Free speech/thought" page--and noticed my posts getting deleted. When I argued this logic-I got deleted. Time # three - I joined a "rants and raves page"-- I would pick topics that everyone might not agree on, and discuss them to see every ones view-- Again my posts were being deleted--When I asked for the admins definition of a "rant"-a keystone of the groups definition- the group was closed-and a new one started, this one the same, minus "rants." I was not invited to the new group or allowed to join. And just last night--A group with "sound off.." in the title--that did not really want people to say what they think. Or not agree with the large truck driving syndrome founder. I have my own pages to say what I think -but don't push free speech and key words like "vent" if that has nothing to do with you page--it makes you seem like a small d*cked member of Big Brother --Just sayin'

Because of all of this fun--again minus the fun, I am very happy that my upcoming mini trip is very near!
In just a few daze I will be taking my first Amtrak ride to visit Mark AKA Professor Getty. Residents of Palm Springs are officially warned now! Lots of pictures to come!!  This trip is well needed. Good hikes good cigars good beverages am maybe a little bromance thrown in. Like an enema for my soul lol----This again leads me to ask why enemas come in two packs??  I am in no way saying that my wife does not need a long break---but very happy that mine is coming up -starting Sunday in fact.  :)

But why risk it??

On that same note---I can zip past tons of useless information you posted about yourself, but have
no use for lists of what foods you ate today--or pictures.
Also to the people that do post everything---why do you than act surprised when
everyone knows all about you?   And Facebook knows more about you than anyone really should.
It's a mystery.

Mmmmm coffee!!

Our two babies are going to the vet tomorrow.
More on that after the scratches heal.   :)

Another Day Another Anger---Errrr Dollar!

                                                                           Both!

**"Whatever you are, be a good one!"**

In case you are new to my blogs, and have not yet gotten the memo--I enjoy coffee.  A lot!  Maybe to much.  But with exploring, a job, and three kids--the consumption almost lets me keep up.  Keeps me upright for sure.  So it is no surprise that at 9 AM I am at my second coffee house of the day.  The surprising part, is that I received no coffee at the first stop.  After getting the kiddos off to school, I ventured right down the road to one of my favorite coffee shops.  I will not mention the places name, because today I am not really liking the place.  I will say that we live in Fairhaven, so the coffee shops are very limited.  I ordered my morning brew, and than groggily tired to hand the beverage maker my debit card.  Amazingly they only take cash and checks--but no debit.  Amazing because few cashiers still know how to handle actual cash.  And very few places still take checks.  Something we just use for mailing out bill payments.  Because I find checks to be the most evil form of payment known to man.  With all of the security checks on a check and such I think this form of payment is even far worse than the bottle of pennies!  Although I have started to notice that NO one knows how to use there own debit and or credit cards.  They fumble in the line for so long.   I blame most of this on the consumer.  Who seems to be getting dumberer ever day, the gentle man in front of me in line last week, told the cashier that his pin number was taped to the top of his card -in case the cashier needed it to finish the transaction.  Or in case anyone needed the pin number if the card ever got stolin.  Like by me, after gaining this new info.  Some of the blame I place on the businesses.  Many places seem to re-set there credit machines each week adding new buttons to push.  To were it now takes 22 buttons to buy one bag of Cheesy Poofs.  The machine even asking you if you want to leave a tip for your cashier.  No--I want my fatty snack food.   Many workers actually deserve a tip.  They work for your tip money.  The cashier that glares and than smirks down at you while you push all of these buttons, basically getting a nice break -does not deserve a tip, or any of my chips.
Anyways, I had no cash on me or dreaded checks and had to move on down the road.  So I now find myself enjoying the view and brew at Tony's coffee.   In the heart of Fairhaven.  I have written bad reviews of the place in the past, mainly because the store did not have it's own wi-fi.  They have fixed this---allowing me to write this amazingly bland blog post from the coffee shop.  Wahoo for the future were you can use wi-fi and pay with a debit card!

At my last job I heard all about how my co-workers would survive a zombie attack.  ALL about.  Two quick thoughts on all that I heard.   1.)Most Americans, including myself are beyond week and would not last a week.  Lets face it, getting out of bed is the most exercise many of us face in a day.  And we get a tummy ache from eating at Burger King.  Do you really think you can survive any kind of attack?  The only advantage is that obesity and laziness is spreading past America, so the zombies or attacking nation might also be addicted to Cheesy Poofs, cheese cake, and diet 44  oz sodas! And B.)  Zombies only like fresh -full brains, so most of the people I know are safe!

Valentines Day is right around the corner.  I have to work as a server.  And really think it would be fun to buy a bunch of discount rings.  And secretly slip them on couples tables --and than step back and watch the show!  But since my job resume is not up to date and my job description mainly has my name followed by a blank page--I will again refrain from sharing my ideas with management.

Because I am working--my wife and I are not going to do much on the actual "holiday."  Yes, I have discussed this with my wife, while we were both awake.  And we are going to run away for a day soon after, and just enjoy each other.  And I must say, I can't wait!   Not only because we are sapply still madly in love and like hanging out -90% of the time, anyway.  But also because Nana is watching the kids!

I am sure I have shared this story before, but I am in the typing mood, and think it is a fitting story.  For more great advice, on things not to try, unless you wish to be single, please check out my old blog posts.  My beautiful wife was born in April and suffered through years of April fools cracks.  I did not know this the year we first meet.  And decided to pull a prank for April fools, very soon after we had first fell for each other.
She was positive I was going to dump her from the start.  And after lots of discussion, we decided that if this ever happened, I had to do the break up face to face.  No phone calls or text message break ups.
For whatever reason I decided it would be a great idea to e mail her a fake break up.  And sat down to cook up what I still personally think was a great letter.   "Dearest Purdy Lady,  ...Blah blah blah.... I know we agreed to never do it this way, but things are not working out....blah blah blah...sorry for the e mail version.....   just friends....   "  Scroll down a little bit and the famed words "April Fools!!" appeared.
This went on for a few paragraphs.  And than with out much pre-thought I clicked on "send."   Long story -short, she did not find this as amazing as she did ever time I pictured this in my head.  Most damningly because she did not scroll down to the end.  And thought it was a real, very harsh break up.  She instantly deleted my name from any and all contact lists and would not answer her phone for anything.  It finally took me calling her grandma, explaining the joke, and than having her explain things to my wife.  Many apologies and years later she does not find the humor in any of this.  I am a married man now, and have no opinion on the subject either way.  But feel free to comment on here your thoughts on all of this.   Funny or beyond mean?   Or like many of my jokes, a morbid mixture of the two.

Speaking of love, a local home under construction received a ton of negative publicity and made it on the evening news.   Why you ask?   Ask dam it!   Because they got tired of people messing with there construction sight and put a sign in the front yard warning traspassers to stay out and that this warning was inforced with a guns.  "Bad" enough in a state like Washington, full of weenies and zombie fighters.  But these people just happened to live across from the Fairhaven Middle School.  Causing a huge conflict.
I am completely in support of this sign.  We have a middle schooler, almost two of them at home, and I would hate to have a few hundred of them cutting through my yard.  The sign was probably put up, after many problems, and I bet those would be vandals now think twice before venturing into the lawn.  If this sign was across from an elementary school, than yes --- I might agree that it was a very poor choice---but middle schoolers are old enough to dechper their own luck.  And if they can not read the sign, than this should be the big news issue, not the sign.  I believe some thing new is taking the towns focus.  Like the locos are protesting street signs, because they bring in more evil, possibly gun toting, out-of-towners.  But I was ready to stand near the lawn, with a support sign.  I say near the sign, because I am not standing on there lawn, I can not out run guns.   A support sign saying something like "I support these folks, and if you touch my sign, I will shoot you!"  I believe, like my writing today, that is a run on sentence.  But my coffee has not fully kicked in yet.
I grew up in Wyoming were all of the best trails and exploring is private property.  And each is marked with similar signs.  The only difference is, everyone in Wyoming has a gun cabinet full of guns, and they have known how to use there guns since they were knee high to a grasshopper.  So you really do have to think twice before jumping that barbed wire fence.
Some of my better pictures and exploring comes from private land.  But I always think twice before venturing around a restricted sign.  Or cover it over with my jacket.  If you can't see it, it is not there!

4/18/2012

Tonight I start with my picture of the day.  A picture I actually took today!  This is on Commercial Street in downtown Bellingham a few blocks from the bay.  I was very disappointed to learn that the sign does not lead to a coffee shop anymore.  Not that there are not coffee joints every were around here.  I have learned that I am very near the obsessed point with coffee and items relating to it.  Especially after looking at past blogs and Facebook posts.   MANY seem to deal with the dark brew of the gods.  In fact entering coffee in the key word search for all my blogs brought up over 120 results.

**"It's always a great time for coffee!"**-------  I saw this on a sign in front of a coffee shop today.  Who'd of thunk!  Unfortunately my trusty camera was running out of juice, and I could not snap a shot of the sign.  This is not always true, but almost always.

Maybe it does not produce art, but this is a huge part of the processes for every blog  right there!

And now a brief rewind on the calender to Easter and this obvious victim....

A few things, now that you mentioned Easter.   We watched the movie Hop a few daze back, and it was highly entertaining.   Through watching possibly to much TV, I now offer a couple of pointers for those of you with children, you can borrow next year.   The first is to place eggs inside the prongs of a whisk and than dunk them in the food coloring.  It keeps the eggs in place and keeps every ones hands just flesh colored.  The 2nd is to take some of the many plastic eggs you have laying around the house,  fill them with rice crispy treats, leaving a hole in the middle.   Than place M & M's inside the crispy egg so they rattle when shakkin.

**"When I say I drive like lightning, it's not because I drive fast. It's because I hit a lot of trees."**---I could very well be a licenced driver again by next month.  So if you walk to work, learn how to run fast.

**"I was given 4 E’s and LSD last night…
What an awful start to a game of scrabble"**

**"I don't mind having a "kick me" note stuck on my back, but a "wash me" note, that really is mean ;)"**

Although I am on Facebook way to much, I personally can not stand Twitter.
I bet this guy made bank......

But you already all knew this!

I am working on actually being productive every day.  With my blogs and in most aspects of life.  But most of the time, this is my sign for sure.

Everything around is yelling out spring time.  And everyone loves it.  Unless you are an allergy suffer.    When the only reason your yard is green, is from all of the weeds blooming, you know it is spring time.   Or if your yard is allll yellow.   This yard is near Cornwall Park.  And all of the yellow is dandelions.

I had several firsts for the season any way in the last few weeks.   April and I went to the first farmers market downtown two Saturdays ago.   As always it was a great experience and a large portion of the town got to enjoy the sights and sounds and some sunshine.   More on that in a future blog.   I also mowed our lawn for the first time of the year.  I always enjoy the smells and little beads of sweat built up from the effort.   Once upon a time I had a lawn service called the Lawn Ranger.   And hope to be able to do something similar very soon.  Because if nothing else, I am a very good boss.   If I do say so myself.  On the topic of work, for any of you taking notes.  I have been making some cash off line from random jobs and selling items.  And I just applied at The Olive Garden today.   The last first of the season is my personal favorite.  We have enjoyed bbq food four times already this year.   This early in the year you also get to enjoy wind, rain, and some snow as you cook.
Burger King doesn't have anything on me.

With spring also comes my wife's birthday!   She once again turned 28 today.  When we repeat ages it makes it easier for me to recall!
April usually is in charge of every ones birthdays, so I was kind of nervous about taking control of everything for our little party.  Above is the cake, in case you didn't get the memo.

Here is Max thinking he is going to get some cake.

Here is Max after he learned he was not getting any cake.
.

                                                 Cheers!  to the birthday girl!

The bouncer and our bbq cook for the night

An effort to include and or emberas the in-laws all at one time.

And how you know it was a rockin party.....

My wife's new bumper sticker, now we just need to put getting a vehicle into overdrive.

So every time I get a little discouraged about life or things in general.  I have to say, here, this hasn't been a problem in awhile.  I am in a very good mind set and point in my life.  But for years people kept telling me that all life could do, was go up and get better from were I was.  And it just kept getting worse some how.  This went on for three years straight I think.  Anyways, stop distracting me.   When I get discourage I think of a homeless person that used to roam Bellingham.   He had three shopping carts full of his treasures.  He would spend his days pushing them around town.  Because one shouldn't be far from there treasures or loved ones.  Anyways, he would push one cart about two blocks up the sidewalk.  Go back and get his 2nd cart.  Push it up to the first.  And repeat till they were all lined up again, and than start over again.  He would not tie the carts together.  He kept busy and productive and was an amazing worker.  Although I am not sure what he was working for.  He also was very protective of his carts.   Get near him, and you could learn some new cuss words.  Get closer and you could learn some new fight moves, before he knocked you out.  I should have written a resume for him.  Although it wouldn't take long to catch back up with him, at his rate.   I am not sure if this gives you any inspiration at all, but just writing and picturing him makes me smile bigger.  And find comfort in the fact that even in the darkest times, there is hope.  And home really is were you are.

In closing I would like to ramble about a conversation I had the other night.   A few ex Wally World workers were talking about how many W's are in the last sentence.  We were talking about how Wally World used to offer shrinks to any workers that thought they needed them, at greatly reduced rates or roll backs.  BUT you had to go to a shrink picked by the box store giant.   I highly doubt that any doctor on there list could help anyone I know.   Even the people farthest from being nick named Loony Tunes!    And the two of us soon decided that we would be better to save our cash and ask online, what you the reader thought our problems were.   I do not have enough free time for you to list allll of my problems.    But kind of realized that is actually what I do in many a blog.   I vent and ramble and complain.  And it is amazingly calming for me.   I do the same thing on Facebook way to much also.   With the main difference being, you have to come to this page to read my thoughts.   They do not just appear on your screen like on Facebook.  You choose to click on this page, so your thoughts and input are very important to me.
