Rain Rain --Feel Free To Stay

**"Hooray for cooling rain! Now to hope we don't get to much!"**

**"I want to git chocolate wasted too!"**

**"Don't like guns?  Don't buy one!  There now wasn't that easy??"**

**"There will be no working during drinking hours!"**

**"No matter if you think you can, or think you can't.....   You are right!"**

Hello all this very wet afternoon!   It seems that a hurricane has came on land about an hour ago near here--- and although it has been deeply down graded to a tropical depression now, we are expected to see lots of rain and flooding o my!  I would normally think we were to far inland to see to much hardship, but by the reports --it is time to sell the row boat and buy an Ark.  Tucson is already seeing many rain related issues.  But it is a much bigger city with lots of roads built following or crossing major drainage routes.   The local news is not much help---with one report basically saying it might rain a lot  or it might not....

** As now Tropical Depression Odile wobbles its way toward Southern Arizona, Tucson will get much more or less rain than anticipated depending on which course it takes. Stay tuned here, on Tucson News Now, and at noon on KOLD News 13 for the latest.**

It actually seems that the news is doing it's usual tactic of scaring the crap out of everyone.  Sand bags are being filled by the dozens.  Which makes me wonder why people are buying them, when there is free sand to be found, every where in the desert?  If nothing else please think before you drive through any bodies of water.   Beyond thinking how fun it will be!   Last week when we got the huge rains, the kiddos and I did some great "puddle jumping" in our redneck pickup and I managed to get some neat pictures of flooded roads and such.  The main part of this depressed storm is supposed to pass over us about five tonight---so maybe I can get some good pictures.   I will share these very soon.

My mini rant for tonight
I complain about this every year but it gets earlier every year---Y>>? One full isle of Christmas items are now up at Wally World. I love this time of year, but WTF most kids have just started back to school. And yes it's called CHRISTMAS --cashiers. If you do not have enough balls to wish me a merry Christmas, you deserve your job at Wally World. --Just sayin'

I love this video   about road rage gone wrong  or maybe right?   I bet this person thinks twice before he jumps out of his vehicle in a rage again.  I am pretty sure Sponge Bob was one of the characters that schooled him.      https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10154516310180705

Lots of Exploring in the works for us, and posts from past trips.   Including a trip very soon to Lego Land!   In fact that will be early next month.  Our youngest won 4 free passes to the park.  Of course I will have lots of pictures from that road trip.     For local Exploring please check out my newest blog page.     http://exarizonagobensonbobcats.blogspot.com/

I wonder if the publicity manager got fired after this one??

I might have mentioned a few times that I grew up in Wyoming.  And while I complain about the weather in the desert and maybe the rain while living in but the long winters in Wyoming are so much worse in my eyes.   My home town saw five inches of snow or so a few days back.   To which I say---too soon!  And ahahahahahahhahaha!!

This is a menu from the 70's.
Yes prices have risen through the years--but not really that much.
Now to all the saps that want the minimum wage to be $15.00 an hour--and yes you are saps--
how many 0's do you think will be added to the above menu just after wages go up.   And cashiers all become computers??
Also note--and I have talked about this before--please notice how little the menu has changed
in all those years.  I only mention this, because the customers in front of us--always-every trip
get up to the counter and instantly go dumb and forget what is on the MC menu.  Causing them to stare at it for long periods of time without actually ordering anything or stepping out of the way for the next hungry people in line.
The menu has been very similar for years and years in any country you need MC grease!

Something I wrote about this --years ago.....

Some how even though the sheer odds are against it, I end up behind the only customers in America who have never been to Mcdonald's before. Last time the only thing that kept me a calm customer in waiting, was knowing two of the workers behind the counter who looked as annoyed as I did. Ok maybe what I was looking at was a mirror, but they were not happy either. Not sure what I am talking about? Here is a greatly condensed version of the eaters that always seem to be ahead of me. Taking the fast out of fast food. We all know that even starving Ethipians have at one point in their life, been to a Mcdonalds. And if they could not figure out the complex menu, they had pictures to point to! The menu is also pretty much the same at any location across not only the 50 states, but the world. Yes world. And the menu has not really changed since burgers were 10 cents a piece, yah mc dope.

On my last trip the family had about five people and an overly controlling father who wanted to change every one's orders after they finely did order. *Stares at menu. Ummm we'd like 5 hamburgers a fake meaty combo and a compressed wiener dog. **Even though they could have ordered a 7 and a 9. But both with ketchup the father adds. And the meat only cooked on one side. I like half of it raw. And cook the lettuce for 22 secs to. Do you have shakes? What kind of shakes do you have? O Timmy is allergic to milk, what kind of pop do you have? Do you have pop? Do you have mc straws? How about curly straws? Soonish the three year old that found a new friend in the parking lot *a lady bug is allowed to order his own food. I want six of those toys the one with the flashing lights and strobes and swords, but no mc girl toys!! *Stretches out arms and "flys" around store lobby for about 22 seconds. And………I LIKE BUGS!! YOU HAVE BUG EYES CASHIER LADY! I WANT A BURGER HOLD the boogies hahahhaha I LIKE BUGS! How many bugs would it take to make a dozen burger patties?? I LIKE BUGS! But I do not want to eat any! Not any more today that is. Hahaha. I'm a spaceship!! The mother is up next, and it soon appears that she has about the same IQ as her son. UMMMMMMMM, what comes in the Mc Chicken sandwich? How is that cooked? What comes in the milk shake? Do you have soy milk? Can I mix an 2 with a number 99 or might that give me hives? Can you tell me what is in a cheeseburger?

I had a hard time not answering the mind numbing questions for her. I mean what's in a milk shake can you tempt my smart ass any more?? Her vegetarian daughter is up next. She is in the wrong restaurant. She is trying to lose weight by not eating anything with a head. She makes up for it by ordering a shake, a pop, a mc pie, some fries, and an double order of mc cookies. Nothing on her menu had a head, but might cause a case of double chins.

The following morning, when it was my turn to order I quickly placed my order and moved to the side. Unfortunately the order before mine was very complex and took the better part of a half hour to fill. After it was up the father went through each item comparing the actual burgers to the pictures on the signs and counting the number of sesame seeds on buns.

I managed to hold my tongue the entire time. Something I am very proud of. And was soon proudly holding my bag of food. Very soon after I was back in line. I had ordered the wrong combo!

Welcome To September!

I am sitting here over joyed that the sun is mostly covered with clouds today.  Temperatures are again near the 100's here in the desert -so a cloudy day is a very welcome sight.  Although it is still beyond humid!  I know we picked living in Arizona, or the Land of the sweating sun, as I so affectionately like to call it, but as I typed this very paragraph I sweated out enough sweat droplets to feed a large army of sweat eating bugs.
I also can't help but notice how close to 9/11/2014 we are getting.  I notice this, because the date stamp is on my computer screen, and because everything on TV is a reminder of this day right now.  All I choose to say right now, maybe because I am to busy sweating, to think properly.  Is that security in the name of fear is something well beyond real security.  Big Brother is growing very strong very fast, and how much more secure do you really feel on a daily bases?  Or when you fly-anywhere??

On a some what related note--I have been reading a lot lately about more dips wanting to raise the minimum wage across the board to $15.00 an hour.  Seattle and Mcdonalds workers were recently the only ones pushing for this.  And apparently slackers all across the US put down there weed pipe, and took notice.  Have you tried to buy anything in Seattle recently?  It costs a fortune!  From $6.00 regular cup of coffee to there being no MC dollar menu at Mcdonalds    this is before the proposed/and crazy wage increase.
Government should not have a say in all kinds of things, but in the name of safety they have more and more control every day. I do know that if the $15 / hr min. wage ever happens --the American dollar and economy will soon fully collapse. I have lived in both Oregon and Washington--states with the highest min. wage in the lower 48 states. Sure min. wage was near $9 an hour--but EVERY THING else cost a fortune. I wait tables here in AZ--and because I make tips, I only make about $5 an hour as my wage. BUT Arizona's--especially Benson's cost of living is amazingly low

Today's Exploring song is like an Old Spice commercial and takes you all over! It is also my pick -since our youngest would not stop whistling in class one day a few weeks back and got in trouble. http://youtu.be/cSnkWzZ7ZAA

My newest blog page looking for new readers. All local pictures and Exploring. Lots of fresh ideas and posts in the works. Please take a look around and let me know what you think! http://exarizonagobensonbobcats.blogspot.com/

I believe my next Exploring post for the page will be from the amazing Pima air and space museum in Tucson.
I of course have lots of pictures from a recent trip there.
Hopefully I will get this post up this afternoon!
At the moment I am kind of enjoying slacking and not working.

All I can say is I worked at Wally World for 8 long years---two of that at the service desk.   The customer is not always right--even if they can yell amazingly loud.

Today's picture of the day!
A feature I keep trying to bring back to this page--but keep forgetting to actually include when I post.
I found this while Exploring Tucson with a buddy.  I have many pictures of the larger versions and of desert plant life in general.  It constantly amazes me how many different kinds of plants thrive in the desert.
This is the first cactus like this I have ever seen that was so small!
It was about a foot tall.
And I had to snap this shot.

Coffee can take you any where.
What do you see when you stare at the clouds??

Welcome!

Good morning to everyone!   I am sitting on our back deck today writing this action void blog post.  It is still not to warm --but it is July and that will change.  By afternoon even if you take a shower--you get out of the shower and are instantly covered in water again.  The shower water being replaced by sweat.  Luckily the intense heat only lasts about two months out of the year.   And much of July we rejoice with the monsoons!   A magical time of the year, when even God decides it is to hot here--and the heavens open up -giving us a huge down pour of cooling rain.  Often much more rain than the dry desert can deal with.  Causing even more problems.  But at least everyone is much cooler and a little happier.  Even if there car is now surrounded by water and could be considered an island.  At least now it can be considered a dry but moist heat.  All of the old timers in this state like to explain why residents do not spontaneously conbust from the sure heat---most of the time--because it is a dry heat here.  If that was not true---watch out mister!  Because than, boy, it would be hot!   I have many times before mentioned how mind numbling stupid this is--- once it's over 100 outside and in many cases inside--it is just Flippin' hot- no matter what kind of heat you are dealing with.   So I will not go into this thought line any deeper now.  I may very well continue to make fun of the concept though.

So many trails   So little time!!

We have now lived in the Benson, Arizona area for just over a year.  I have a whole blog post coming filled with pictures and thoughts on the great little town.  It is still hard to believe we have been here a year now.   Time flies even when you are not having fun!

**"News flash to all the people that have been calling and texting my wife so early in the morning---mostly with wrong numbers and such---- I work grave yards and have no issues calling you back even earlier in the AM. ----Just sayin'"**

Last post I added some links I found interesting and hope you also enjoyed them.  Here is one for this morning to wake you up a little bit.    This person has lost it   and really wants some Dam Mc Nuggets!     Mmmm Mc Grease!    https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=749511365093587

The other night at work ---I work in a restaurant in a casino---we got extra busy at 3 AM after a concert had let out -the bars were all closed--and everyone suddenly realized they were very hungry.  And needed to attempt to sober up before gambling more or attempting to drive home.   At any rate the grave yard shift is full of interesting people.  And that is just the workers.  Two nights back because of the rush--we had tickets all the way across the cook line of food waiting to go out.  The cooks were killing themselves off trying to keep up with the rush.  And food was coming out of the kitchen --but not fast enough for starving drunks.  Anyways several gentlemen from a table of mine decided they had waited more than enough---drunkin' waiting time is different than sober waiting time, by far.  And came up to the cook line and started to harass our lead chief---who handled things much better than most people would or maybe should.   The last time they came up -- they canceled there food orders-- $60.00 worth of food and than went into a rant about how some day our tribe would get everything figured out and would be able to actually get food out of there kitchen to hungry customers.  This was extra entertaining because the chief and I are beyond white boys as well as are most of the cooks.  If anything we are from the not so famous Chip-A-Hoy tribe.   The casino does own all of the food outlets and such, but serving food is not really a tribe thing.   Most casino food outlets actually loose money because the eaters are  not gambling.
These customers were trying to get a rise out of someone.  And trying to offend.  I have let a few things slip--while working at a casino in Washington that co-workers did not exactly like--but really was not trying to offend anyone.  There I always called myself the token whit boy--this was why I supposedly made the big tips.  But I think it was more because I kept my knee pads extra polished.  One day I was talking about being new---and very low on the totem pole in the scheme of things.   That did not go over to well.

I really miss Wood coffee   from the Bellingham, WA area  anyone wish to send me some??
My birthday is coming up.....   ;)

I seriously used to own this very shirt.
But I can say I have never worn mine in a mug shot.

I have posted this before--but it still amuses me greatly.

Sounds like a plan for tonight  or for on my up coming birthday.
To bad no one else can see any of my friends.

I do believe it might be a great night off to fire up our fire pit!
I will be jumping in our pool at least once today before the monsoon rains hit.
I do have one complaint about our new pool---the sales people at Wally World never once told us we would have to clean the Dam thing!

Directly above is our new bed headboard.  I share this to brag and to show what amazing things it is possible to obtain for free.  Mostly because people have to Dam much stuff.   We also got an amazing grand father clock a few months ago for free.   But in warning--it many times is not worth the hidden costs of being free---because people are people and often greedy.   But these particular items are amazing and well worth every penny we spend--and more.

Father's Day Is Just Around The Corner

Hello all!   In case you have not gotten the memo, Fathers day is soon approaching.  I honestly do not think most people care, even those of us that actually strive to be great dads-not just sperm donars.  Think about it mothers do  so much---and they get a "holiday" during the school year when the kiddos can make something for them at work.   It is a huge day for your mother or your wife.  And unless you were hatched when you were born, you will not hear the end of it if you miss mother's day until you make up for it the following year.  Big time, mister!  I mean your mom did spend 13 months carrying her in your belly--and this *insert lame generic gift here* is the thanks you give me   for allll of that!??  AND mothers are great.   My mom runs the show in her household as does my wife in ours.  They know were everything is and how everything works.   Fathers day is just kind of a day were the dads can have another excuse to BBQ!  And maybe make sure they have a brew in each hand all day.  They can also spend the day realizing they will never be as kool or as loved as the momma-- and can visualize how full there wallets used to be before they had kiddos.  One can also finally pull out that cracked and un-used condom from your wallet that your dad gave you in Middle School.  After the third child is born --condoms might not be as effective any more.  I personally practice safe sex at home, by leaving the lights on.   ;)  I am in no way knocking being a father.  I love the title and take it very serious.   I am knocking the "holiday."

**"We are going to splurge tomorrow and buy an above ground pool--- And going to the lake on Tuesday. I soooo can't wait till the monsoons hit here!"**-------Pictures to come I am sure.   We are just happy to have found an actual lake close to here!   Several of my Exploring blogs have discussed how hard it is to find any water around here.   And the monsoon season is amazing!  Although our dog freaks out in the storms--and has to be outside in the mist of it.   The street in front of our house is paved and soon floods up to my knee height.    I have seen a lot of rain from living in Oregon and Washington for years, but it is usually a cold rain that chills you to the bone.   And the thrill of dancing in the rain disappears after about 2 days.   Although the rainy season there lasts about 4 months.   Here it basically gets so hot that God takes pity on the residents and it dumps down rain!  Better yet it is a kool  refreshing rain.   The dirt is so not used to rain or moisture of any kind that the water does not know were to go.

**"If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."**
-Ronald Reagan

OK so Jess had her 13th birthday party on the 4th. First ---wow I am old. 2nd---I believe all of the girls ---Except the birthday girl cried about something during the party/sleep over. Does that make it a successful party or not?------I do not understand 13 year olds at all   especially the girl versions.  And I was a teen   once  long ago.

So I have been sharing a lot about my new job.  And  I love the job, but the 12-8 in the AM schedule is not really high on my list.  It seems lately that I always seems to feel like a Zombie if I am at work or not.   Last night I pulled $150 in tips---so that was defiantly a plus.  A hard feet on a normal shift---but really so on a grave yard.  If I do say so myself.

I in now way claim to be the smartest crayon in the box   but Dam I see stupider every day.
Even when I don't voyage to Wally World.

One of our dogs will even snag the top piece of bread on your sandwich.

This wasn't the magic school bus.

Cheers!

I don't care who you are   that's funny right there!

                                                                          Yup!
