Father's Day Is Just Around The Corner

Hello all!   In case you have not gotten the memo, Fathers day is soon approaching.  I honestly do not think most people care, even those of us that actually strive to be great dads-not just sperm donars.  Think about it mothers do  so much---and they get a "holiday" during the school year when the kiddos can make something for them at work.   It is a huge day for your mother or your wife.  And unless you were hatched when you were born, you will not hear the end of it if you miss mother's day until you make up for it the following year.  Big time, mister!  I mean your mom did spend 13 months carrying her in your belly--and this *insert lame generic gift here* is the thanks you give me   for allll of that!??  AND mothers are great.   My mom runs the show in her household as does my wife in ours.  They know were everything is and how everything works.   Fathers day is just kind of a day were the dads can have another excuse to BBQ!  And maybe make sure they have a brew in each hand all day.  They can also spend the day realizing they will never be as kool or as loved as the momma-- and can visualize how full there wallets used to be before they had kiddos.  One can also finally pull out that cracked and un-used condom from your wallet that your dad gave you in Middle School.  After the third child is born --condoms might not be as effective any more.  I personally practice safe sex at home, by leaving the lights on.   ;)  I am in no way knocking being a father.  I love the title and take it very serious.   I am knocking the "holiday."

**"We are going to splurge tomorrow and buy an above ground pool--- And going to the lake on Tuesday. I soooo can't wait till the monsoons hit here!"**-------Pictures to come I am sure.   We are just happy to have found an actual lake close to here!   Several of my Exploring blogs have discussed how hard it is to find any water around here.   And the monsoon season is amazing!  Although our dog freaks out in the storms--and has to be outside in the mist of it.   The street in front of our house is paved and soon floods up to my knee height.    I have seen a lot of rain from living in Oregon and Washington for years, but it is usually a cold rain that chills you to the bone.   And the thrill of dancing in the rain disappears after about 2 days.   Although the rainy season there lasts about 4 months.   Here it basically gets so hot that God takes pity on the residents and it dumps down rain!  Better yet it is a kool  refreshing rain.   The dirt is so not used to rain or moisture of any kind that the water does not know were to go.

OK so Jess had her 13th birthday party on the 4th. First ---wow I am old. 2nd---I believe all of the girls ---Except the birthday girl cried about something during the party/sleep over. Does that make it a successful party or not?------I do not understand 13 year olds at all   especially the girl versions.  And I was a teen   once  long ago.

So I have been sharing a lot about my new job.  And  I love the job, but the 12-8 in the AM schedule is not really high on my list.  It seems lately that I always seems to feel like a Zombie if I am at work or not.   Last night I pulled $150 in tips---so that was defiantly a plus.  A hard feet on a normal shift---but really so on a grave yard.  If I do say so myself.

I in now way claim to be the smartest crayon in the box   but Dam I see stupider every day.
Even when I don't voyage to Wally World.

One of our dogs will even snag the top piece of bread on your sandwich.

This wasn't the magic school bus.

Cheers!

I don't care who you are   that's funny right there!

                                                                          Yup!

Just Another Day In Paradise

The above picture is from just outside of Benson, Arizona.
I have so many new exploring pictures to add and share VERY soon!

This post brought you you by Mr Coffee!!

Hello all and welcome to another, long awaited batch of my random rambling!  With our cross country move turning into an extended, very costly adventure, and the very spotty wi-fi were we live at the moment-- I have not focused on blog posts for awhile.  I am happy and thankful to announce that this page now has 16,000+ views!   Thank you all for that, and please share my links if you actually enjoy what you see here.  Many times I just see this page as a glorified journal for myself.  My 2nd blog page is full of exploring and personal pictures of Washington.   And my 3rd blog page will drop this summer----full of exploring Arizona and all this area has to offer.   I really hope you enjoy these pages even half as much as I enjoy making them.

Us all in Tombstone, AZ last week.
After the gun fight
Whole blog post on this coming soon.

With the long trip and such, I have more people to add to my dislike or "DURP" list, so watch for updates.  If you do not know what a DURP is---type DURP into this pages search section.  If you do not find the post of explanation amusing, Surprise!, you are probably a DURP.   **I can tell you here that DURP stands for----- Dim-witted Urban Redneck Parole.   One of the best examples you will soon get to read about--is a couple from Bellingham---I have posted about the wife before, but her and her "Great" husband, are quickly topping the list as my all time Queen and Queen Durp!   **Golf clap!

Also new to the list -is the sight manager at the RV park we are staying at this month.   We are all on edge, five people and a big dog in a 21 foot travel trailer, in the sun, not everything in the trailer actually works.   But it is purdy nice for only paying  $200.00 for the trailer.   Anyways- long story short, the manager is a huge DURP.   So much so that all of our tongues are bleeding, from biting them so hard- to not say anything back that will get us kicked out before we get approved for the nice rental house down the street.   I however did not say I would not push the limits----  like by typing these blogs in the rec room/his office  were he spends most of the day hiding from his wife, and taking over the large screen TV.   ;)

We hope to be in the nice rental by next week, at that point I can stop holding back and earn my "Prick" badge yet another time.   My wife is overly happy, because against all of my bad thoughts of joining the dark side again, I just got a job at Wally World again.  They obviously have not seen my blog posts about the great DURP company or my non fan page on Facebook.   It is mainly an easy way to start collecting a paycheck again, until I can jump into a much better paying job, and better environment.   Anyways, my wife is very happy, almost Cheeseball, because when I quit the DURP company way back in 2007, after eight long years of being a blue wearing associate, I told her she could shoot me in the foot --if I ever worked for the retail giant again.   So get ready to call me Hop Along!

This is a very old picture -but I love it!
We would not all be able to fit on the bed as comfy now.

Father's Day was last week----and we had a very relaxed day here.  Trying not to get to much sun, and chasing down lizards and such through the desert.   I realize that moms do it all, but at least at our house there is a huge difference between Mother's and Father's day.   Huge.
Anyways, I have never claimed to be a good father, but I try.   Being the step dad---I try even harder than many.

That's not right!   What is more not right---is that you chuckled after reading this, even if it was just a lil bit under your breath!  ;)

And now some jokes for y'all!

I have more pictures on the same thought line--but these are the only two I can find at the moment.....

Quick Week In Review

Things have been extra hectic at our house.
And I am still having trouble believing that June even started, not to mention it is now almost over!
School ends on the 22nd, and the end of the year activities are crammed in, especially with three kids.   With summer just around the corner, and the added week of school daze because of "snow" during the winter, the kids have already checked out.  And the teachers are pretty much there also!  I went along with our youngest and most of the Larabee Elementary school Friday on a field trip to Fairhaven Park.   Three hours of running around the park shows the teachers have also checked out for the summer!  The worse part of the trip, was when they decided to attempt to sit all of the kids down, after hours of running around, and have them participate in a group sing a long.  Wasn't happening--is the cliff notes!

He also was in his first play at school!  As the lazy dog.  Very kool!

Above I put snow in quotes because compared to measuring snow by feet in Wyoming, were I grew up, the few inches of snow they saw here last winter was nothing.  I have talked about this before, but in comparison-just last month the Rockie Mountains saw 5 feet of snow in one day.  In that last big storm the west always gets, before the two months of summer.  After that joy, they go directly back to snow.

Among other things---summer time offers some great sunset pictures over the bay!

This week the sprinklers start up at Fairhaven Park.  And the movies on the Village Green in Fairhaven.

Village Green
Just to the right of the white screen for the movies.

And summer officially starts!  The 20th marks the summer solstice --the longest day of the year.

Also the only day of the year that you can balance eggs on there ends.   Try it!  I don't fully understand why it works, but it does.  Something about the gravitational angle and positions of the Earth --sun--and moon.

Call your daddy!
Tell him to buy eggs and try the above on the 20th AND in case you forgot to call him yesterday.
It was Fathers day---you are excused if you were hatched from an egg!

My dad is overly great!   If for no other reason , because he still puts up with me!   He has also been married to my mother for 40 years!   A feat in this day and age.  And I love them both to no end!

Now on to some other things---I have not had time to blog about lately!

Recently our terrific daughter turned 11

Our oldest son--who is also about read to have a birthday.  Why do they want presents every year??   He received his second GRR award at school.  For going above and beyond the expected.
He also just had a reading for some poetry he just wrote at school, but my schedule did not allow me to make that.

My long time buddy "Professor Getty" blew through town for a few daze and we hung out in the woods.   More on that in an upcoming exploring blog.

And than on Friday we made the long trek across the state for a family reunion and camping trip.
Usually I make a high speed U-Turn in the road if I see this sign ahead *although you can't beat the towns slogan. BUT it was an  awesome weekend in Greys Harbor!!
Again--much more on this and beautiful Lake Sylvia soon!

I take pride in what I write.
I also enjoy how easy it is to contact me.  Both through my blogs or my page on Facebook.
Sadly few of my readers ever seem to have comments or feedback.
Many times I test this by adding topics or thoughts that might start a conversation
or anger others.   Kind of like a "mini-mini rant"  My next one will be about the coal trains proposed to run through Bellingham.  Here are a few local hot topics and my thoughts on them:

I can't wait to head to the reservations and buy some good fireworks! While they are still legal. How un-patriotic are all of those fools trying to ban personal fireworks? Read up about July 4th---and than tell me I can't shoot off fireworks! If I am un-safe--that is MY problem, and you can than refer to me as Stubby!

One last "mini vent" for now----- With all of the recent violence in Seattle---guns are going to be harder to get. Don't protect us from guns---protect us from idiots! Everyone in Wyoming has 12 guns---mostly to protect themselves from the government and to hunt & protect there livestock. They do not go around randomly shooting people because they have learned gun control and The right to bear arms.

In closing---I have posted this picture many times before-- but had always thought it was photo shopped.   While we were traveling through Washington over the weekend on the Air Force base, I saw this actual sign.   I am sure you are not as impressed
I am very from Wyoming and very easily amused.

Many new blogs and ideas to come in both blogs!   Thank you all for your readership and support!!!
