That's My Kindda Night Or Dear Journal

First off, tonight I would like to thank my readers for being so faithful!  And for hopefully passing on the joyous word about this very blog page.  Or the few readers who just keep clicking on this page by accident hoping they will finally read something funny and or find porn here.  At any rate this very page just hit 33,000 + views!   I have other pages also but this is the longest running and most read of them all.   As I read my past rambling, much of it that seems like it would only be enjoyable to me--- I am glad that I have so many viewers.  And I really wish that I had started this page years ago!  Because if nothing else it is much like a journal for me  of what is going on in my crazy, but amazing life.

And now a mini rant----I have been slacking on this for sure   and hope to bring this back as a regular featureless feature every Friday as it used to be.  Simply type in "mini rant" in the search portion of this very blog page for more such examples.  You will not be dissatisfied.  Especially if you are a long time reader.  Thus already numb to actual good comedy.

**My mini rant for today** Involves ALL of the people that either do not understand or simply do not care what the left lane on I-10 is for. I can tell you it is not for going 50 MPH! When I am in my redneck truck -people pull out of the passing lane, when I come up on them but in our little POS car people just laugh and drive slower. Maybe you have not read a drivers manual, but unless you are a ...Highway Patrol officer that takes pride and gets his kicks out of driving super slow, and watching no one pass him, it is illegal to drive in the left lane UNLESS you are actually passing someone! After 8+ hours of work, I want to get out of Tucson, before I get shot, and get back to my home and family in Benson. NOT follow behind some dippy-Skippy Sunday driver that doesn't know how to drive in the correct Dam lane! Emphasize on the Dip! If you were in the wrong lane and got flipped off after being tail gated over the last week, I DO NOT apologize here. --Just sayin'
But as usual     what do I know!!?

**"I would like to thank my middle finger, for always sticking up for me!"**

Fire pit tonight staring at the stars a few brews clear perfect warm night That's my kindda night! http://youtu.be/crCqWK3SmRo    I really do believe there is a country song that fits EVERY kind of occasion and mood.     Prove me wrong if you do not believe so.  And I will proudly and humbly call you a rock star for life.   I do wish that my new buddy would have joined me for a brew or two.  But the kiddos were more than entertained by the great powers of the fire.   I was fully into all of the stars as they slowly appeared in the night sky.  But than too was fully occupied in all the fire had to offer.   Something  that has had such power over mankind for so long.

I have been slacking at posting my Exploring song of the day AND of making fun of Wally World for awhile now.  To accomplish both
Today's Exploring song comes with a video. And is brought to you by the letters W M and Y for Yuck! or Yummy depends on what your into I guess. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=498694166867826

Quick Week In Review

Things have been extra hectic at our house.
And I am still having trouble believing that June even started, not to mention it is now almost over!
School ends on the 22nd, and the end of the year activities are crammed in, especially with three kids.   With summer just around the corner, and the added week of school daze because of "snow" during the winter, the kids have already checked out.  And the teachers are pretty much there also!  I went along with our youngest and most of the Larabee Elementary school Friday on a field trip to Fairhaven Park.   Three hours of running around the park shows the teachers have also checked out for the summer!  The worse part of the trip, was when they decided to attempt to sit all of the kids down, after hours of running around, and have them participate in a group sing a long.  Wasn't happening--is the cliff notes!

He also was in his first play at school!  As the lazy dog.  Very kool!

Above I put snow in quotes because compared to measuring snow by feet in Wyoming, were I grew up, the few inches of snow they saw here last winter was nothing.  I have talked about this before, but in comparison-just last month the Rockie Mountains saw 5 feet of snow in one day.  In that last big storm the west always gets, before the two months of summer.  After that joy, they go directly back to snow.

Among other things---summer time offers some great sunset pictures over the bay!

This week the sprinklers start up at Fairhaven Park.  And the movies on the Village Green in Fairhaven.

Village Green
Just to the right of the white screen for the movies.

And summer officially starts!  The 20th marks the summer solstice --the longest day of the year.

Also the only day of the year that you can balance eggs on there ends.   Try it!  I don't fully understand why it works, but it does.  Something about the gravitational angle and positions of the Earth --sun--and moon.

Call your daddy!
Tell him to buy eggs and try the above on the 20th AND in case you forgot to call him yesterday.
It was Fathers day---you are excused if you were hatched from an egg!

My dad is overly great!   If for no other reason , because he still puts up with me!   He has also been married to my mother for 40 years!   A feat in this day and age.  And I love them both to no end!

Now on to some other things---I have not had time to blog about lately!

Recently our terrific daughter turned 11

Our oldest son--who is also about read to have a birthday.  Why do they want presents every year??   He received his second GRR award at school.  For going above and beyond the expected.
He also just had a reading for some poetry he just wrote at school, but my schedule did not allow me to make that.

My long time buddy "Professor Getty" blew through town for a few daze and we hung out in the woods.   More on that in an upcoming exploring blog.

And than on Friday we made the long trek across the state for a family reunion and camping trip.
Usually I make a high speed U-Turn in the road if I see this sign ahead *although you can't beat the towns slogan. BUT it was an  awesome weekend in Greys Harbor!!
Again--much more on this and beautiful Lake Sylvia soon!

I take pride in what I write.
I also enjoy how easy it is to contact me.  Both through my blogs or my page on Facebook.
Sadly few of my readers ever seem to have comments or feedback.
Many times I test this by adding topics or thoughts that might start a conversation
or anger others.   Kind of like a "mini-mini rant"  My next one will be about the coal trains proposed to run through Bellingham.  Here are a few local hot topics and my thoughts on them:

I can't wait to head to the reservations and buy some good fireworks! While they are still legal. How un-patriotic are all of those fools trying to ban personal fireworks? Read up about July 4th---and than tell me I can't shoot off fireworks! If I am un-safe--that is MY problem, and you can than refer to me as Stubby!

One last "mini vent" for now----- With all of the recent violence in Seattle---guns are going to be harder to get. Don't protect us from guns---protect us from idiots! Everyone in Wyoming has 12 guns---mostly to protect themselves from the government and to hunt & protect there livestock. They do not go around randomly shooting people because they have learned gun control and The right to bear arms.

In closing---I have posted this picture many times before-- but had always thought it was photo shopped.   While we were traveling through Washington over the weekend on the Air Force base, I saw this actual sign.   I am sure you are not as impressed
I am very from Wyoming and very easily amused.

Many new blogs and ideas to come in both blogs!   Thank you all for your readership and support!!!

4/28/2012

**" I love to get my wife all hot and bothered.... OK maybe the hot part isn't true......"**

I find myself trying to sneak out our back door the last few days.   Not to sneak undetected from my wife, to roam around town.  She is more than happy any time I leave the house for awhile.  But because we have just bought a new car.  New to us anyway.  I might have mentioned it a time or two in my last blog.  And it is parked in front of our house.  Harmless enough, until you factor in that we are not getting insurance on the vehicle until I am finally legal to drive again.  A goal we are very close to.  But like many things we are doing in a strange order.  Buy the car, than get fully legal.  Move in, than get approved.  Move far away, fall back in love.  Get married than go on dates.   But it works for us.
I attempted to go to the Dirty Dan Festival in Fairhaven today, but than found out that it does not start until tomorrow.  Making it harder to attend.  I have never made it to the festival.   About all I know is it is for Dan Harris the founder of this great town.  And you can eat clam chowder, until it comes out of all of your holes, at the same time~ !  I will have more to report on all this very soon.  Speaking of events, my parents celebrate there 40th wedding anniversary next month.   An amazing  amount of time.  April & I have just made it a little over a month of being married.  A mere drop in the bucket compared to my parents relationship.  I will have the link to our wedding sight in my next blog.  We just need to add a few more key thoughts on the sight.  Our wedding will be in Bellingham, but we are having trouble picking a location, so if you have any suggestions--please comment!   I hope we get some great comments once the link is set up, and if you do not see yourself on the invite list and wish to be, please let me know.  On a related note I would like to thank all of the new in laws.  I do not believe the mother in law and I have had any issues since I moved back this time.  Although her now being on the road, could be part of that.  They are continually supportive of my blogs and the pictures I take.  Even the lamest of both in my eyes.  I would say they have not been very welcoming to the family on any level, but I have been a part of the family for just short of seven years now, so I guess that really is not an issue either.
I skipped yesterday "mini rant" and I am sure no one noticed.  So I am going to add a quick rant right here.  One that is not worthy of a full rant.  But has been gnawing on me for about a month now.   This is neighbors and relatives that knock once and than feel free to walk right in our house.  Maybe I am way behind on the times, but I find it extremely beyond rude.  It's different if you know they are just down the road and coming to your house.  One knock and than entering is fine.   But to knock once and just walk in, seems beyond rude in my book.  I will note my book is very short and full of mostly blank pages so far.   We have started locking the front door  which so far resulted in several neighbors bouncing off the door, not realizing it would be locked and still trying to enter.   But this is not an option with summer right around the corner and three kids running in and out for essentials like water and Skittles.   I personally am not comfortable enough with any of my friends or family to just walk in there house.  Any thoughts from my readers on any of this rambling?

I have talked about Brian from Canada many a time.  He is my wife's pretend lover.  And from the sounds of things, he is about to make a visit soon.  Our oldest wanted to stay the night at a friends.  And his buddy told his dad that I was sick, our other two kids were out of the house for the night, and that my wife had a date to go on.  So if any of you see Brian -please contact me.  See what happens when you get something minor like the flu.  Your significant other feels it is something life threatening and goes on dates to prepare for after your funeral.   I think this flu was brought on by all of that warm weather last week and than the temperatures dropping.  It is still warm, but compared 50 is 20 degrees cooler than it was last weeksend.  Or I am sick simply from riding the bus.  Most of the people on the bus seem to be sick.  And like to pass the time by talking to me about everything from light bulbs to chickens.  They also like to share all of there germs.  As long as I don't acquire whooping cough.  Apparently this is skyrocketing in the state right now.

I hadn't found this picture when I wrote my "mini rant" complaining about dog owners that forget to clean up after there dogs.  It is in the blog now.

     The more you know:

Wow, Did i look like an idiot at the store yesterday....Heed my warning guys, if the cashier says strip down facing me, she's referring to your credit card.

I found out yesterday that laying down and playing dead only comes in handy when face to face with a bear, and NOT at important business meetings.

**Mini Rant #14**-----Right!!?

If you wake up to this in the morning it is a sure fire sign --that you are going to have a bad day.  Hide under the covers for the rest of the day, or work on your Karma!   It is once again Friday, so it is again time for my "mini rant!"    This makes rant number 14.  Feel free to read them all if you are inclined.

Today's rant was going to be about people from the North West that wear Berkinstocks and socks in the rain.  But decided that really wasn't a rant.  Although it still erks me.  And looks beyond dorky.com.  I will refrain from stomping on any ones feet who wears the combo, mostly because I would wear myself out.  The style void/soggy fad is as much a part of this area as rain and coffee.  Or Banana slugs.  Huge slugs that hate salt and beer.  The slugs *and Berkinon/sock wearers,  look amazingly fun to stomp on---they are not!   Squishing them forms a goo on the bottom of your shoe 12 times worse than any gum ever invented.  This goo remains on your shoe for exactly a week.  And never really fully washes off.  This is annoying, but still not today's rant.
This one sticks with the exploring/walk theme I have been on lately.  When you are enjoying a trail, and someone finds the urge to yell  "right!!" when they are inches from passing you.  This is always annoying.  And usually scares the crap out of me.  Especially if I am in an extra peaceful area enjoying the sights, or simply trying to snap a picture.  When I walk by myself, I try to stay off of trails, because well trails are boring.  But when I am on a trail, I stay as far over as possible at all times.  Joggers and such find the urge to yell "Left" as they pass.   Why?  I can see you pass me.  And there is a whole trail beside me for you to pass in.  Usually it alarms me, enough that I almost jump into the joggers path.  Is this so I know what side you are coming up on, so I can suddenly jut my let out and trip your lame ass?
Why does this not apply were it is really needed, like in super markets and Wally World?  My goal in such evil stores, is to get  my crap and get out.   And I usually can not zip through the store because of all the obstacles.   Including, but not limited to, very large people-- dangerous electric cart drivers---and entire family's that find the urge to walk side by side by side by side by side down the isles.  At a pace one would have to draw a chalk line on the ground in front to them, to verify they are actually moving.  These great people could only take up more room in the isles by turning there cart completely sideways and than themselves laying down in the middle of the isle!  Cars also do not need to beep or yell out when they pass each other.  Because the drivers, most of the drivers, watch out for the huge balls of metal zooming around them.   Surprise--- I am aware of most of the other trail users.  Especially if you are out of shape, and breathing heavily down the trail as you jog, or venture away from your comfy couch in general.
The ONLY time I am on a trail and would "love" a heads up that you are rapidly ready to pass me, is when I am with our dog, Mr McMutley.  Than I can understand you, yelling and or panting out "left!" because we kind of take up the whole trail.
I add no pictures of Mc Mutley today because I now realize I have not asked his permission to post any images of him.  Earlier I attempted to ask, but he thought I said the W word, and started running and jumping around the house.   He was now ready for a walk!   I responded with "We will go later, and roam forever."   And he started jumping more.   I said "Wait, later!"   Why do I keep using "W" words?   And he was heading for the leash, eyes fixed on the front door.   "Wtf!  I never said the W word, and we will go later!"    More freakin "W" words!   Now I  attempt to distract Mutley with some doggy treats and try to get him to lay down.   He gulps down the snacks and remains very near the door, not even close to laying down.   "Daddy is tired, and can't take you for a Walk right .....     As Max goes nuts, I realize this time I said the W word, and there is no cure until we actually go on a walk, and get "Left!!?" yelled at us at least 22 times.

If you feel there is any other reasons to yell "left!"-----Please share.    Or if you actually agree with any of the above rant----PLEASE contact me.

A very mini rant here about the above.

I know all kinds of people that abuse the system. Something about living in housing, gets you surrounded by some of the worst abusers around.   This only takes away from people that really need it.  Because we can't provide for all of the abusers, things like food stamps are getting imposable to get, no matter how sad your sob story is.  Even if you are calling in your sob story on a new IPhone.
When I first moved to Wyoming, I was overly poor.  I soon landed a job and was living in a not cheap motel.  I was getting paid $2.25 an hour.  Because I was a server, and living in a tourist trap of a town, I got tons of over time with the arrival of summer.   With all that over time, the state told me I would lose my food stamps.  Yes I was making awesome tip cash, but even with mucho over time, I was not making $5.00 an hour.
Yes I chose to be a server--or it chose me.
But I did not pick to be poor, while hundreds of people scammed the system.

**Mini Rant #13---Sidewalks**

And with Friday comes my "mini rant!"  Today it really is a short one.   Two things first.  I wish to post one of my favorite mini rants, so far.   Mostly because I really enjoy coffee.  And don't enjoy people that keep me from my morning brew.  http://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwyomingjack.blogspot.com%2F2011%2F01%2Fmini-rant-5-shakin-not-stirred.html%3Fspref%3Dfb&t=%2A%2AMini+Rant+%235%2A%2A--Shakin%27+Not+Stirred

And B:  I really enjoy that my 13th mini rant lands on Friday the 13th.  No matter how superstitious
Bad luck for this coffee?
you are, your fate is still your fate.
But I do feel a little more at ease now that the
day is almost over.

OK and now for the rant.   This one kind of ties into my last one about leash less dogs.  Mostly because all of my outings lately involve sidewalks.  The name even has the purpose of the sidewalk in it!   While I am walking on the sidewalk, I hate to have to dodge bicycles.  Especially in Fairhaven, a town I rarely have complaints about.  90% of the town  *this percentage is made up, please note* has bike trails.   Trails the city maintains very nicely, and paid thousands of dollars to put in.   With these bike lanes, I should not have to dodge bikes while on the sidewalk.  Weather I am walking our dog, or carrying groceries home.  I never know for sure if a biker is coming up behind me.  And if I do have the dog, I have to attempt to get him and myself out of the way.   Usually very quickly, and usually followed by an attitude from the biker, whose way I seem to be blocking.  I can see if the person on the bike is very little, the bike lanes are very close to traffic.  But for the rest of you, get off my sidewalk.com.

**"Birthdays are good for you.  The more you have, the longer you live."**

**"Save the Earth......It's the only planet with chocolate!"**

**"Never buy a car you can't push."**

Every ones happy to be seeing sun.

Very helpful sign on the piers in Seattle.

Next month my 2nd blog will start.   All about Bellingham and Whatcom county.  With a large serge in readers to this blog, I hope to gain reader input in both blogs.  So today I ask you all, for a good title for the 2nd blog.   It will mainly focus on my hikes around the area, cheap activities, night life, day trips, and such.    Please send me any ideas.  And as always pass on this sight if you enjoy it.   My readership is growing a ton over the last few weeks.  And I thank you all!

I have noticed a few things this week.   There are small lean too/shelters all around town.   Many can be found in the woods around WWU.  I posted one near the coast in yesterdays blog.  And the following one is in Blaine, WA near the Canadian border, Aye!

This also makes me wonder if the large structure, complete with lookout tower can be found along the bay line nearish the airport?  I have been that way, but it was years ago.  It was a sight and supposedly started in WWII.  Any readers have any knowledge?

I have also noticed that I have an awful lot of gray hair on my head.   People that know me well, rarely see me without a hat on, now you know why.

During my exploring I have also noticed that there are bits or RR tracks all around town.  Tracks that are not used anymore.  But have been left, mostly intact.   I now want to film as many of these as I can find.   To be my new fascination.   Lately I take a ton of pictures of clouds, trees, and of course the water.

These pieces are near the bay line in Fairhaven.
This picture I have posted before.  It is one of my favorites by far.  And is Today's picture of the day.   This is hidden away in the woods between Falls Park and Lake Whatcom.   I feel it also shows most peoples future.   They are never sure what is around the next turn.  Especially if they are fool enough to make plans.  And the leap over this broken part of track could lead to great things, or a down fall.   Either track will lead to great life lessons and each piece of the track makes up a part of your past, taking you to the future.   Without all of my pieces of the past, I would not be me.   Most people would be happy with a different me I am sure.  But Faa! on them.
Why yes officer, it is hands free!

Yet another bad thing to say to the police.  My all time worse was still asking the motorcycle cop that just pulled me over for not wearing a seat belt.  Were his seat belt was.
