Two Rules For Success

       

 

 

 

        So last weeksend we found an amazing deal on a big ol honkin' BBQ grill at a garage sale and soon made it ours.   We had access to a nice one, a few months ago, but it belonged to the mother in law, AKA The Devil, and when we finally convinced her to leave-with the help of angry dogs, chickens, and the police, she took her BBQ with her.  I have long ago been banned from actual cooking in our house.  Something about making lumpy tomato soup one day while my wife was sick.  Now if my wife sees me going toward the kitchen, she steps in front of me and has me go watch TV or something equally important.  Maybe next time she is sick, I will take the soup out of the can, before I cook it.   For better or worse I am always allowed to BBQ --just not while standing in the kitchen.   Maybe I should try to cook the soup on the BBQ!?  I can tell you the spaghetti noodles fall through the grill.  Any case the other day we tested out the BBQ to make sure it made good food.   It does!

  Also notice how nice it is outside!    I do believe I sun burned my face a little bit on this day.  I have BBQ'd in all kinds of winter weather, from snow storms to dumping down rain, but I have to say this is the best winter back drop for making a meal in your short sleeves and enjoying some adult beverages.

We have a large covered car port and at the moment it is full of items we have up for sale.

We have enough stuff at the moment to set up a well furnished bachelor pad at the moment. 

 

 

 

 

And just a little more of the non ending saga of my mother in law---

Sadly it is still a better story than the Twilight series.

I swear it will never end. 

And although it fills lots of status on Facebook, and sections of this very blog,

the fun really never does start with this crap.  

 

So just recently we got a restraining order against my mother-n-law AKA The Devil--because we were sick of alllll of the crap and her attempts to contact us--Today she contacted the police-because we r having random people harass her, I think most people call them telemarketers... I so hope for laughs galore, she attempts to protest our restraining order in court next!

Aberdeen Day Two!

Welcome back! After the holidaze I have many new ideas and posts coming! I hope that everyone sticks with me. And PLEASE share these links, if you enjoy what you see here.
Our family has been experiencing overly poor service almost every were we shop in the last few months. I have an entire blog post about the worse offenders in the works. But to counter the "bad karma" this might bring, I am going to post about a quality business in every new post on this sight. As long as we actually have an enjoyable shopping, dining, or business experience. Places that stand out and offer beyond great service, actually going the extra mile to make our day or at least be helpful. Many have already been noted in these posts. Our family offers them a huge thank you! After I have a large handful, of businesses posted, I have a plan to attempt to cross publicize with them. To freely push customers to there business and to my random web-sights. Thank you ahead of time, to anyone that goes with this.

Today I have two such businesses. --- Before our trip out of town, and again this morning--I find myself at Midas to have our car looked at. They have been overly professional and helpful. Fixing what we decided was in our budget, and not pressuring us to have more things fixed. This morning they squeezed our car right in to get looked at. As I was driving it yesterday afternoon, both wiper blades decided to quit. They are still stuck in the up position, and you can hear the moter running, but they will not budge. In Washington, this is a huge problem. Midas got the car right in to look at, and offered a very reasonable cost estimate. They know I can not venture to work tonight with no wiper blades, and did not take advantage of the situation by jacking the price way up.
While they are looking at our car, it is a quick venture to Barnes & Noble. With most actual book stores vanishing, it is awesome to have such a large book store in town! You can roam all of the isles and books, even hide away in a corner and read ---without being annoyed by workers. The store also has a Starbucks in it, with treats, and coffee of course. This coffee shop is tied in with the Cheese cake factory ---so treats are expensive, but sooo good! And offers free wi-fi, which is how I am typing up today's post! Neither business offers outstanding service, but I have also never had poor service in a Barnes & Noble or a Starbucks.

I try to keep this sight as current as possible. I also attempt to keep all exploring in Bellingham or Whatcom county. Again today I am going to venture much further down the trail and tell a little more about our recent trip to Grey's Harbor. So on day two of our mini trip--- the rain disappeared long enough for some trail exploring. The boys and I ventured past the house we were staying at, past the local middle school. Through many trees and past many ponds.

I love how it is so wet that everything in Washington is green.

Even the trees are green all over.

A few rare glimpses of the sun follow.

My readers in other states, probably do not realize how little we see of the sun in the winter time.

This is why I bring it up so much, and have so many random pictures of the sun.

It is nice to recall what it actually looks like, and think of it's warmth!

On days that the sun does make an appearance, all residents are squinting, trying to recall what that bright light in the sky is. And trying not to run into things while walking.

The great Northwest usually has amazing, sun filled summers, but the winter is full

of grey and rain.

Back were we stayed, there are many cats.

Every time we ate or sat at the table- there were many glowing eyes watching us.

My wife took this picture on the way to Aberdeen.

Considering we were on I-5 and moving, it is a very neat picture.

The Space Needle top was recently painted gold for it's 50th anniversary.

Right now it is getting a new paint job. A tree landscape around the top.

Voted on by residents of this state.

We also had time to visit relatives.

We had started to think that my wife was adopted at an early age--for many reasons.

Or maybe it was just hopeful wishing on her part. But she looks just like this recently found sibling.

The kiddos got to see relatives too, and have an all out brawl!

Than we explored many of the homes my wife lived in.

Or at least drove past them.

My wife is the only person I know, that has moved more than me.

     I pause in my typing and coffee consumption to view the sun.  Now that fall made it's about week long appearance, winter is here, and seeing the sun is now a rarity in The Great North West.  Perfect timing though, because today is the Jog-A-Thon at the youngest two kiddos school.  I would go into more detail on what that is, but the name kind of explains itself!   My wife and I were helping out today and with the entire process, but I got annoyed with the main leader, who still has no clue what my name is, and decided more coffee was in my future!

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to make coffee in the morning,

mainly because you have not yet consumed any coffee?

 

 

I have been trying to eat a much healthier diet.

Trying is the key word.

For the most part I have noticed that my body is so shocked to consume healthy foods,

that it goes into major shock and I get sick.

OK  this is not entirely true, but is amusing.

I have decided I am in a shape, not good shape, but

a circle is still a shape!

 

 

I wonder if having to add the calories to the ordering menu at Mc-Donald's

has hurt there business any?  I do know for sure that the letters on the menu REALLY shrunk!

I was also surprised to learn that the pancake breakfast had like 220000 calories.  Give or take 2 zeros.   This makes the carton the pancakes come in far more healthy!

 

 

   **I gots Halloween off work to spend with the kiddos! Now what to dress up as?? And no--I am not already wearing my mask!"**

 

 

 

   We took a quick trip to Seattle yesterday---I will share more in my week re-cap for the other blog sight.   And there was a break in the rain long enough that we got to see the full shine of the Space Needle's new paint job.   In honor of turning 50 years old this year.  

 

I did not take the above moon picture, but it is super kool and it shows the new gold top!

 

Local residents have voted and the next paint job will be trees wrapped around the entire top.  Also  should be a great picture.  If not a super expensive canvas.

This is the Evergreen State and all.

 

 

 



    So along with all of the voting fun-- this year, Washington voters also "get" to vote about legalizing pot.  We have very mixed thoughts about this--in short the state will get tons in revenue but they will also have total control over the mess.  Plus I can easily see medical weed costs, for those few that really need it--benefit from it, is a better word choice, skyrocketing.  And just because our state would recognize it as legal, would the Federal government?   I think it is one more thing the government should stay out of.  But what do I know??   I do know that Oregon hippies will be beyond disgruntled if our state legalizes this year.  Because they have been trying to pass this for at least ten years, when I lived in Oregon.   Maybe the supporters in Oregon should set down there weed a little more often ;)  I have been having issues with You-Tube and my blogs---- but now dedicate the song "Because I was High" by Afro Man  to Washington voters, if the law passes.    Play it as we watch the states productivity magically decline.

I am!

 

I believe everyone should vote.

But here in Washington it can get very discouraging. 

Beyond the political ads, fights, and "great" selection---

Washington polls are not even closed, by the time the TV newscasts select the presidential winner.

 

 

   I have written about many a cup of coffee and MANY a cup of Starbucks.   Above is a picture of a Starbucks fail.   With the van door open ---it shortens there name in a bad way for business!

      Hello and good morning to all!    As I was sitting here guzzling coffee and reading some of my past blogs, I decided it was time to write today's action packed blog!   Decided it was time to write today's blog.  Decided it was time to write down some caffeine induced rambling.   See how the writing process really works!?  

     When this Geico commercial was airing, I used to run around my past work place yelling  "weeeeee!"   I have to say it is hours of fun.  Please pretend it is Friday and I posted this on the correct day.    "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"  Distracted?   Good.

       **"Next time you're in a hospital elevator, calmly ask a stranger if they know what floor you should get off at for deadly infectious diseases."**

    **" I had to become poor all on my own you know?  I wasn't born with a plastic spoon in  my mouth!"**----Eric Cartman

           **"Yesterday I went to the corner store, and bought four corners."**

      **"I could very well have a drivers lic again by next month! Its been 8 years of not being legal. lol Happy day, but it will make us poor :("**--- Also soon to really hit the pocket books, will be my hernia surgery.  So far I can't seem to get on any insurance.  But both are very important to accomplish soonerer than laterer.  Both will be talked about in future blogs I am sure. 

   Good advice for all.   Have you noticed how feel people wash there hands when they leave a restroom?   At least in the mens restroom.

  So the other day while leaving the grocery store, I came across someones debit/credit card.  After the first impulse to go on a shopping spree, I returned the card to the persons bank.  So that they could get it back to the owner.   I have lost my card before, and managed to loose a nice sum of cash before it was reported lost, by myself.   Mainly because few places actually check ID.  Always write check ID on the signature part of your card.  And get on any clerk that does not actually do so.   This person also had his picture on the front of the card.   A luxury well worth it.  Although my picture on my card is not a welcome sight in most stores, I am very sure.   At the moment the joke would be on anyone ending up with our bank cards.  Because I believe we owe the banks money.   Maybe the stealer could be forced to take over our debts?  

                        Today's picture of the day is actually a recent picture. 

  A few weekends back I had some free time to kill while waiting for my wife to get to Seattle.  So I roamed around trying to find some pictures.   The Space Needle is always a great building to take pictures of.  But I love the way it is outlined in this reflection.   There is much to do around the building.   And if you can afford the price, the view from up top, is amazing.  Long ago I had breakfast in the restaurant at the top.  The dinning room slowly spins.  So your view is always changing.  The ticket was not close to cheap though.   I believe the eggs were like $12 a piece.   A picture filled blog just about the Seattle trip really is coming soon.
