...But First, Coffee

It has been cloudy and rainy and windy here since last night.  And the temperatures have dipped clean down into the 50's.   I have friends and family across the country, but many in Wyoming--so I do enjoy telling how nice it is here in the desert.   Two days back it was 75 outside here, and I enjoyed a nice Exploring hike.  The weather right now is pretty much what you see all winter in Oregon and Washington.  I believe it being over cast and gloomy almost every day was far worse than the rain.  If it is going to be crummy it might as well dump rain too.  The constant clouds mess with your head and make you gloomy, and than when the sun does make an appearance, it is a huge shocker!   And everyone runs around squinting, asking people they pass--what that bright light in the sky is called.

I usually push hikes and any kind of Exploring lately.  Beyond being healthy I find each one amazingly calming and a great way to wear out the kiddos and dogs.  Plus I can get some great pictures-and get to get out --away from Facebook and enjoy the temperatures of the desert.   I have so many places to Explore-and each will make it into my newest blog page of course.  That said, after living in the Great North West for so long, and being soaked to the phone on many a hike, or attempt to get my mail.   I really am not motivated to go on any type of hike when it is a blustery and or gloomy day.   Be advised these type of daze require even more coffee consumption for me, and can easily result in multiple blog posts!

                                                                             Is this helpful or not??
Either way it made me laugh.

Those of you that have not watched Sesame Street in awhile-might not have noticed that Cookie Monster now eats way less cookies.   Someone decided that his un-healthy addiction was making our kids fatter.   And he now eats lots of fruits and veggies.   I have talked about how ridiculous this is before.   But now ponder why the C can't stand for coffee!

We often try and figure out what the new huge toy is going to be --so that we can stock pile them and mark up the prices for frantic parents just before Christmas.   We never are very good at predicting.  But I think it is safe to say the above is not going to be a huge seller.

With the weekend coming up   I offer this....

It's a real nail bitter!

Just the other day I rambled again about jogging-and the joys of just staying at home and enjoying a beer over jogging!  After that random rambling I found the above thoughts.

Now that's one big bird!!

A few weeks back I had a huge brain fart and lost our camera.   Not a huge loss-in the terms that the camera -not me, so much, took crummy pictures for the most part.  But since a huge part of what "I do" is taking pictures, I was at a loss.   I quickly found the camera we are using now.  And I must say, and have heard from others, that the pictures come out MUCH betterer!  Almost two years ago--wow--I had a discussion with one of my bosses about picture taking.   She wondered with the advancement of super cameras -if it was really the camera or the picture taker that was amazing.  And if one really could take a bad picture.   Yes there are some amazing camera's out there-if you have enough cash.   I recently borrowed one that was worth more than our pickup.   One of the lenses was worth more than our pickup.  And after I mostly got over being afraid to touch the thing --got some super amazing pictures.   Honestly the camera did most of the work-point-shoot--amazing picture.   But with out having the I--even with the best camera, your pictures will never be great.   Real photographers--and I am far from calling myself one, have a different view of people and things.   They can scan a country side, and know what will look amazing in full size.   My grandmother had a state of the art camera in it's day.   A top of the line Polaroid--"shake it like a  Polaroid picture!"  And she loved taking pictures.   But as much as she attempted, she could not pull off a good shot -for anything.   If we all stood perfectly still, fake smiles fading after the first 30 minutes of pictures.   Ten  of the 80 shots would actually have people-us--in them.   The rest would be of the sky, an ant hill, the Lockness Monster, or even the Eiffel Tower!   A real feat, since we lived in Wyoming.   Of the ten---three would be in focus.   I am in no way making fun of this wonderful woman---but stating that a huge percent of good pictures, is due to the camera.  But defiantly not all of it.

                                                               Make your mark!

Over the last few days I have not gotten very much sleep.  So I apologize if my random rambling makes less sense than normal.  To me it is amusing, but I am easily amused.  There are many times at work were I look around and I am the only one laughing.  But at least I am happy right?   I have always survived on little sleep, but sometimes it gets to the point were even the coffee is not helping.   I work late-ish into the night and it seems hard for others to recognize that I might not be out of bed before 7 AM.  Yesterday it was a friend of ours--again, who knows I work late.  Today it was our son, who decided to stay up all night, and than be extra loud this morning at around 6 30 in the morning.  I am now attempting to keep him up all day, reminding him that we sleep at night, and that was his chance for sleep.  This game is already getting old, and it isn't even 8 o clock yet.  I wish I had the sleeping "powers" of my wife, who slept soundly through everything.  I have the amazingly annoying powers to hear everything, even in a near dead sleep.

So the other night at work, we were talking about random things--such as how baby carrots might make some men jealous.  And how a server I used to work with was overly angry with Subway, because there foot long measuring stick was not the same as his.  During all of this deep thought-- a joke came to me, I will share here.  *Why did the man break up with his cross eyed girl friend??    Because he found out she was seeing someone else.  *   I share all of this, not only to take up space in my blog post, but because at work we just watched a video about how to harass our cow-workers.   Wait, it was about how to not harass those we work with.  And I must say the acting was something!   The actors should be harassed out of acting school, but that is another topic.  Sometimes it is amazing what offends someone else.  Sometimes it is great fun to continue being annoying, but not if it crosses into harassment of any kind.   At least I feel this way.  I joke around a lot, most of my waking hours, which as I said, is a lot lately.  And can usually tell right off, if my comments mesh with the person I am talking too.  If something like, red is not your color, annoys the person, I will defiantly not start right off giving them sh*t!  The other newbie at work who started the same day I did and I joke around constantly at work.  Everyone asks if we knew each other before we started work there, and no we didn't.  Thanks for asking.  I could just tell right off, I could give him crap, and he would fling it back.  Not go running to management, or go into the corner and cry into the salad mixins.   If anything above offends you, like maybe the thought of getting a wet salad if you ate at our restaurant, please notify me.  After I stop laughing, I will try even  harder to annoy you!

For whatever reason blogger is not cooperating once again today.  Maybe I truly do need more coffee!   Although I have written several great blog posts while tipsy on adult beverages.  What ever the case, this post is takin' me much longer than normal to publish.  Plus I keep having to pause to wake our before mentioned son up.   Now for some rambling in pictures.

Our dog would lick you to death, and than help you carry out our valuable stuff.

It is now time for the much awaited picture of the day!   I know I know, the name of this section needs work for sure.   I am also working on many new features for both blogs.  And tons of new exploring posts.   As always if you wish to comment, good or not so good----please contact me on here or at my new Facebook page.  You can also post your pictures, jokes, etc on this page.   So far I am the only one posting on there.

Today's picture of the day you will want to keep on file, for when summer is over --very soon, and the weather report turns to rain and cloudy, every day.  This shows that we saw actual sun, lots of it, most of the summer.  I lived in Oregon many years before moving up to Washington, so understand the constant rain, and already have my webbed feet.  And the rain beats the snow and bitter cold from Wyoming, were I grew up.  But it is always sad when the sun time comes to an end here.  And than one glorious day, several months away, the sun makes an appearance.  And everyone walks around squinting, wondering what that bright light in the sky is.  And also wondering were they placed there dollar store sun glasses.

Speaking of the above, there are only six weeksends left this summer.  Git out there and enjoy them!   You can git back to reading and re-reading my blogs this winter!

Goodbye Weekend

**"The bad part about being unemployed, is Fridays lose their meaning.   The good part about being unemployed, is Mondays lose their meaning."**

At the moment I kind of loose my weekends altogether at work.   I work a mid shift on Fridays, sometimes till 9 at night.   And than find myself un-able to fall asleep at night.   Saturday and Sunday morning finds  me at work at 7 AM, until  the managers decide I should go home.   So usually about this time of evening on Sunday, I am either ready for lots of caffeine or a nap.   You can guess which I chose tonight before writing this drivel.   I am once again near a mini retirement though.   After I leave this job, and return to Washington I will not be working for awhile.   I can say that I could not do that here, because it is such a boring area.   Maybe not so much so with a vehicle, but still boring.   I worked as many hours of over time as possible in the summer here.  To appear busy and to forget things.  Because slow time, turns into thinking time.   Which soon just makes me want to get to drinking time.   Besides the love of my life living in Washington, and bonding time with the kids, the area offers so many great things to do, when you are or are not working.  I have written about many of them and will in the near future again.
For whatever reason I was Wally World earlier today.   I have done very good at not visiting the place lately.   In case you have not gotten the memo, I do not like the store much in the first place.  But hate the store even more, when living in small towns.   Because there really is no were else to shop.  We do have a K-Mart  but most of the shelves are usually empty.   Not from over shopping, but from ordering one of every item from TVs to candy bars.   The cashiers at this K-Mart also take so long trying to figure out how to bag your purchases, that you want to just throw your items at them while you say "forget it!"  Anyways, man you are easily distracted tonight, I bought a box of one of my favorite snack cookies.   I actually found a small box, instead of the economy jumbo super sized person boxes.   These used to be marketed for families but now are for single people.  Everything at Wally World now seems to be super sized.   From the box of 112 pop tarts to the lawn furniture.  Each year, the patio furniture gets wider.   So do the Play School little people.   They are all larger play people than when I was a kid.   Look it up on Google.
Anyways, there you go distracting me again.  I will devote a whole blog to larger people or bigguns some day.   Today I need to vent about the cookies.   When I finally got out of the store, a task in it's own.   I tore into my cookie box  ready to enjoy a chocolate cookie with chocolate swirls and chocolate filling.  I could already feal the sugar on my tongue!  As I was tearing into the box, I instantly noticed that the cookies were way smaller.   And after looking at the cookies, I noticed the swirls of chocolaty goo were missing on top.   When I bit into the cookie, I wanted to throw it at someone.  It tasted more like what I would picture the box might taste like.  Bland and nothing like my cookie.   Add another big Booooo! to a long list of bad choices Wally World!   Typing choclate this much, just makes me think of Cheif, from South Parks song about his salty chcolaty balls of candy of course.   If you have not seen the show or heard the song, don't ask.   Because you will be offended.
Speaking of things tasting like the box---Tonys frozen pizza.   Since they stay in business, I am sure some people love them.   But I would rather eat the box than the pizza, be it cooked or still frozen and I have to gum on it like a morbid Popsicle.   I really like there "party pizza"  were you get some cheese and about four pieces of peperoni.   I thought someone stole the party from mine.
My brother is always the handy type  and got his wife a new mixer!

So at work our boss has glued fake flowers on the end of all the pens up front so they will not walk away as easily.   Few "manly men" will stick these flowers in there front shirt pockets for sure.   Most of the flowers are pink or such colors.   And I find it a little to entertaining watching the male customers write with these.   Many will use there own pens.   Especially when I tell them the flowers really bring out there eyes!   We used to use the same pens when I worked at Wally World.   But one of our great customers, you know the ones that are always right--always!   Somehow stuck the flower part in there eye, and had to go to the hospital.   Tell me you are right now, with that purdy flower/pen in your eye!   I can not say a ton, a can of pudding once sent me to the hospital.   I guess if nothing else they damaged customer could fill out there emergency contact paperwork with the pen side of the object in there eye, right?
Our boss is very proud of these snazzy pens.   And it is easier to try to take orders with a crayon or your own blood than to explain to her why you are using one of the flower pens to take a customers order.  At one point last winter, a worker, not me, for once, was taking the flowers off the pens and throwing the fake flowers under the ice machine.   I did not know about this, or want to know about it.   And was trying to find something in the walk in fridge.  As I tried to exit the fridge, boss was standing in the doorway, with a handful of the flowers.  Now not attached to pens.  A terrible waste of glue for sure.   Seeing me in the doorway, she thrust the tops in my face and asked, loudly if I knew anything about these.   I thought she was joking and started to laugh.   Apparently she was serious, and the laughing did not help the situation any.   She soon believed that I knew nothing about the pens, whom the vandals were, or really much of any use in general.  And she carried on to shove the poor flowers into someone Else's face.

I am not sure if this is a real book but can see the topic going terribly south fast for some reason.   I guess I just have a dirty mind.   But I will stick with reading the classics, if it's a kids book or adult book.

I talk about sheep being safe a lot.   Maybe to much.   In a past blog I tried to explain the thoughts about sheep in a positive light.  I think I failed baaaadly!   Anyways, here are a couple examples of sheep that are not safe.   Enjoy!?   And if you have any questions, please ask my brother, the one that built the mixer above.

This one is more than a little bit creepy, even for me.

And exhibit   XYZ.....

OK  in an attempt to redeem myself a lil bit please enjoy.

I am still not sure if the person that posted the above sign or the person that uses the condom should stop trying to have kids first.

Good Bye 2011

**"I can start using my new calender tomorrow!"**----

Yes I am easily amused, but the dam thing has been laying around my room for the last month.   And unless I want to figure out how many days till next Christmas, in an attempt I already  know will fail to shop early, it has not been a very useful gift so far.

I am trying to recall what I did last New Years.  I know I was in Washington state, and I was watching fireworks over the Space Needle on TV.   They shoot them off the top of the building.  The whole area is filled with very happy, very cold, very tipsy spectators.   The top of the Needle, as those of us in the IN call it, or those of us that are lazy typers type---becomes a VIP lounge for partiers.   This is much more enjoyable to watch than the Dick Clark Rockin Bopin Non Stopin special.   *May not be the official name of the special.   Although you can enjoy watching the ball drop several different times if you have cable TV.   Dick Clark is scary now!   That is the cliff notes of this paragraph.   I really can not recall anything else from that night, and for once it was not from drinking to much.

The best New Years I can recall was in Portland Oregon.   A place I hate and call Potland for more than one reason.   Maybe best is the wrong word.  But I will never forget this year.  It was 2000 and my roomie and I made the trip to party it up!   That year the city decided to not offer free fire works.  People instantly went in a huge panic and started to protest.  Oregon people, if nothing else know how to protest.  If they put there bongs down long enough to decide to join the cause.   Residents did not put down there bongs long enough to realize that there were still going to be fire works, and they could still be viewed for free, out of the viewing area, by looking up!
Riots soon broke out through the entire city.   We witnessed a nice group of young people, trying to tip over a police car near the city center.   The same young people soon became very familiar with the car owners police batons.   Riot cops started to enter the area and we decided it was past time to exit the area.   On the opposite side of town we were trying to enter a very busy bar.  Is there anything but busy bars on New Years?   We had been watching rioters for quite awhile, and were getting parched.  But our thirst was not going to be fixed soon.  Just as we were crossing the street to the bar four men decided to argue with the bouncers of the bar.   The men were very drunk, and very small compared to the bouncers.  The bouncers reminded the men of this, by tossing them into the street, head first.   Before we could enjoy the fight or enter the bar, a line of riot police showed up and blocked off the area.   Not letting anyone else in the bar.   At  some point the police found a need to pepper spray the entire area.    I will say this was the first time I got pepper sprayed.   I wont say it was the last.
It was getting very near midnight.  And it is not very manly to be crying or yelling "Theres pepper in my eye!" And no, there is not a pill for that!  So we took off in an almost blind, disturbingly sober search for another bar to yell the New Years countdown in.   Several blocks down we found an Irish pub.   We grabbed some brews and enjoyed not one, but 12 separate count downs to the new year.  Because non of the drinkers had bothered to coordinate there watches.

I pause very quickly, against my better judgement to explain the 2nd time I was pepper sprayed.  More accurately I sprayed myself.   While living in Oregon, I got every kind of driving ticket there is.  My biggest "accomplishment" being a speeding ticket, while I was parked.   As I argued in court over the BS ticket, I some how called the judge a jackass *in a little nicer termage* and got contempt of court and double the fine.   BUT I learned what contempt of court meant!   See, I try to learn something every day.  And than pass on the learning to my 2.5 readers.   The only dumberer comment in all my dealings with police, involved asking a motorcycle cop whom had pulled me over for not wearing my seat belt, were his seat belt was.  I list all of my best cop experiences in a past blog, and I was even surprised how many I have had.   Anyways, you stray from the topic.  After most of my visits with police, I was rewarded with a ticket of some kind.   At one point to lower all my fines, I joined the road crew.  One day as we were putting all our tools back on the work trailer, I was very near a sheriff.  And some how hit the can of pepper spray on his belt.   It shot straight up in both of our faces.  After the cop realized it was a mistake, and he put away his gun, we all had a good laugh.   And I needed to wash both my eyes out  and my underwear!

I think the next best New Years I can recall was in Washington state.   A great gal and I had spent the night out.   At some point in the night, we both tried out luck at being single.  And I ended up with the most phone numbers some how.  But it was a win/lose because I got hit on by an exact equal number of guys and girls.  I lived at the top of a very steep hill, and it had rained that night.   Between high heels, rain, and lots of beverages it took us about 45 minutes to get up that stupid hill.  I really can not disclose much more about that night, but can say that it will forever stick in my memory banks as a great New Years.   With free fire works in my apartment.

I stop to ponder---  can one use the pharmacy drive through at Wal-Greens to pick up cigarettes, if you claim they are your medication?

So in closing I heard today that 2012 does not bring the end of the world.  Just the end of the world as we know it.   A huge group of aliens is going to visit the planet.  And try to revel to us that we have been worshiping a false God for years!   They will enslave us and become our new rulers and Gods.  I think they were from that newly discovered planet, that is said to be 100 percent possible to be inhabited.   Word is there are already three Star Bucks on the planet!   Since I now look like a Mormon at work, I did not really listen to the above story of our future, so am not sure how accurate my accounts are.   I can accurately state that if you are a real Mormons, you should not watch South Parks version of how the book of Mormon came about!   I can also say that I will be around wishing you a happy 2013 in some lame sauce blog!
