Thank You

                   First off this morning I would like to thank all of my readers!  The loyal, the ones lost in cyber space that just fell into my blogs, and decided to read them, and my mother- who seems to be my biggest fan.  Maybe even those of you that keep clicking on my page--or that share my pages and rambling with others.  Whatever the case just this blog page just hit 27,000 + views!!  So again   thank you!   Above I did say this morning, it is still earlish in the AM on a Sunday morning.  I can handle mornings, but I am definitely not a morning person.  I get my 2nd wind around 11 at night  and could easily be a great night owl.  If I could get any sleep during the day that is.   I would also like mornings MUCH more, if they started around noon!  

   This page has been around for years now--and I hope that it is a joy for many of the readers still.  Or at least makes them laugh just a little bit-often.  I am working on more pictures and such for many Exploring posts.  Tomorrow there is no school for Dead Presidents Day--so the boys and I are going to roam some were.   Hopefully we will have bought a new--to us--car very soon, and the adventures will start to be further from home.  I have a whole list of hikes and such I wish to check out, but our gas guzzling truck is not the best method to get to the trail heads.  At least it is not the most fuel efficient method by far.  Before I complain about car hunting---   here are some of my other pages and time fillers.   Please check them out---and share the links if you enjoy what you see!   As soon as I start working again--I am sure my posting will drop on all pages.

Today it will again be in the 80's here. 

And as Arizona residents rejoice

We are searching for our fans in storage and noting that this is going to be a killer hot summer.

    The plants are all confused here and I think we will be seeing signs of spring all around.  

Rattle snakes are already being spotted all around the Tucson area.  Luckily I have not spotted one yet.  Partly because with all the sun shine and warmth---I put things off.  I have started jogging again---more on that soon--but not today.  I can say that I am super out of shape, and that the short first jog--left my legs much sorer the next day than they should have been.  On my trip very soon--I want to at least be able to keep up with my 50 year old buddy on a hike or two.  And I am back in the mode of wanting to do at least one 10 K run this spring.  Although that is not a huge run--I am no were close to being able to do this.   With the heat, I am also wondering about training and actually accomplishing one.  I do not do much well in the heat, including sitting on my as*.  

I believe I saw this announcement on TV the day after Valentines Day

We have been visited by local Mormons a lot in the last few months.

Sheep are safe!

I have not touched on this subject for awhile.

But have written about it a lot in the past.  

I even have a large collection of sheep toys.

If you are not from Wyoming--don't even try to understand.  

    And now I must vent about car shopping for a minute or three.  While in Washington state we had a nice little Buick that could legally seat six.  It was not the best car in the world but it kept going and it got great gas millage.  Because we had a travel trailer when we moved to Arizona, we purchased a redneck pickup.  And attempted to sell the car--also because we did not think the car would make it all that distance.  Our pickup had so many issues along the way, that it is almost a brand new truck.   The buyers decided to drive our car through a house one night--- I picture it very much like the above picture.  And forgot to tell us about the mishap.  Luckily we still had insurance on the car when the drive through attempt happened.  Needless to say, if we could find our old car---we do still have keys to it--it probably would look something like the car above.  Which seems to be what most of the cars in this area actually look like.   AND the owners still want $3000 for them.  Taking the hunk of metal to be recycled would not even get me half that amount.   Although having it squished into a metal cube--would make a great base for a new coffee table.  

    We do not expect a perfect car for the cash we have to put down at the moment, but holy cow--the things we have been looking at are beyond bad.  And we have the cash in hand.   Thanks to filling early on taxes.   We looked at a car the other day---pictures were all nice --clean looking--supposedly the car ran.   It was basically a big paper weight  that did not run.  The man was not even sure why it did not run anymore.  He had even hooked it up to machines for diagnostic checks, and did not know why it didn't run.   The outside of the car--was in very nice shape, probably because it had had not run in so long.  But the inside was gutted out and reminded me of a mulch pile in smell and look.  He still thought the vehicle that transformed into a paperweight was still worth a large amount of money.  I am sure it is to someone--just not to us.  I have turned many expensive items into paperweights, from misuse, but was not going to buy one.  

      A few daze back we were supposed to look at another great car.  But while I was attempting to get directions to view the car---the owner became very pushy.  Asking in the first several minutes of the phone call--if I had the cash for the car.  And so on.  And than telling me that the price was very firm, and she did not have time to haggle.  We sell things all of the time, and never ask someone right off, if they have the cash--before they get to our home, or when they get here.   Anyways we decided it best not to even look at the car.   One that may very well be another paperweight for us.  

...But First, Coffee

           It has been cloudy and rainy and windy here since last night.  And the temperatures have dipped clean down into the 50's.   I have friends and family across the country, but many in Wyoming--so I do enjoy telling how nice it is here in the desert.   Two days back it was 75 outside here, and I enjoyed a nice Exploring hike.  The weather right now is pretty much what you see all winter in Oregon and Washington.  I believe it being over cast and gloomy almost every day was far worse than the rain.  If it is going to be crummy it might as well dump rain too.  The constant clouds mess with your head and make you gloomy, and than when the sun does make an appearance, it is a huge shocker!   And everyone runs around squinting, asking people they pass--what that bright light in the sky is called. 

 

  I usually push hikes and any kind of Exploring lately.  Beyond being healthy I find each one amazingly calming and a great way to wear out the kiddos and dogs.  Plus I can get some great pictures-and get to get out --away from Facebook and enjoy the temperatures of the desert.   I have so many places to Explore-and each will make it into my newest blog page of course.  That said, after living in the Great North West for so long, and being soaked to the phone on many a hike, or attempt to get my mail.   I really am not motivated to go on any type of hike when it is a blustery and or gloomy day.   Be advised these type of daze require even more coffee consumption for me, and can easily result in multiple blog posts!

   Those of you that have not watched Sesame Street in awhile-might not have noticed that Cookie Monster now eats way less cookies.   Someone decided that his un-healthy addiction was making our kids fatter.   And he now eats lots of fruits and veggies.   I have talked about how ridiculous this is before.   But now ponder why the C can't stand for coffee!

 



 

     We often try and figure out what the new huge toy is going to be --so that we can stock pile them and mark up the prices for frantic parents just before Christmas.   We never are very good at predicting.  But I think it is safe to say the above is not going to be a huge seller.

 Just the other day I rambled again about jogging-and the joys of just staying at home and enjoying a beer over jogging!  After that random rambling I found the above thoughts.

     A few weeks back I had a huge brain fart and lost our camera.   Not a huge loss-in the terms that the camera -not me, so much, took crummy pictures for the most part.  But since a huge part of what "I do" is taking pictures, I was at a loss.   I quickly found the camera we are using now.  And I must say, and have heard from others, that the pictures come out MUCH betterer!  Almost two years ago--wow--I had a discussion with one of my bosses about picture taking.   She wondered with the advancement of super cameras -if it was really the camera or the picture taker that was amazing.  And if one really could take a bad picture.   Yes there are some amazing camera's out there-if you have enough cash.   I recently borrowed one that was worth more than our pickup.   One of the lenses was worth more than our pickup.  And after I mostly got over being afraid to touch the thing --got some super amazing pictures.   Honestly the camera did most of the work-point-shoot--amazing picture.   But with out having the I--even with the best camera, your pictures will never be great.   Real photographers--and I am far from calling myself one, have a different view of people and things.   They can scan a country side, and know what will look amazing in full size.   My grandmother had a state of the art camera in it's day.   A top of the line Polaroid--"shake it like a  Polaroid picture!"  And she loved taking pictures.   But as much as she attempted, she could not pull off a good shot -for anything.   If we all stood perfectly still, fake smiles fading after the first 30 minutes of pictures.   Ten  of the 80 shots would actually have people-us--in them.   The rest would be of the sky, an ant hill, the Lockness Monster, or even the Eiffel Tower!   A real feat, since we lived in Wyoming.   Of the ten---three would be in focus.   I am in no way making fun of this wonderful woman---but stating that a huge percent of good pictures, is due to the camera.  But defiantly not all of it.

    If there were a cartoon bubble for my rambling thoughts--it would usually appear like the above!   So the simplest reasoning --is why ask why I do or think anything.  It is much easier that way.  This is acttually a spray painted sign on the ground in front of Heggins, asking if you have reusable grocery bags, because the ban on plastic bags starts very soon.  And the answer, all knowing sign, is yes!  We do have reusable bags, many of them in fact.  We just keep forgeting to put them in the car.   Most of our plastic bags now go to poo removal for our dog.  

  Speaking of helpful signs---The great folks at Home Depot, are always there to help--Always!

   Speaking of cartoons, Calvin & Hobbes is proably my all time favorite comic strip.  And I was more than sad, when they stopped being realesed.  Garfield is easily my next favorite.  And I actually have a picture of him!   He hates mondays, loves lasgnaga, and has a birthday about a week before my birthday.   In fact I beleive him and I are the same age.  And as the above picture shows, he also loves a great cup of Joe!!

  I hope this sign implys that it is time to stop for coffee.   And some might argue that this statement is always true.  It could be a ploy from tea manufactures --saying to stop coffee!   Booo! if it is.  

     Not to make light of anyones addiction, although I will if you push me enough ;)   But this seems to be many peoples drug of choice.   And there is much worse choices out there for sure.  

   Possiably one of the most useless products I have ever seen.  But you have to give kudos to there marketing skills!   The top prize goes to decaff 5 hour energy.  This is another real product.  I just do not understand that concept at all, no matter how many times I try to think outside the box.  This usually in all actuality, just makes me crave Taco Bell.

  Back To The Future Delorian time machine---now thats a mouthfull---- was set for yesterday, it seems!

  We found this eire eye on a rock down by the bay yesterday.   Someone added a pupil to complete the image.   I have tons of exploring blogs in the works.  Full of my rambling and pictures.  Lucky you!  

  This was another exploring trip from last week.  Cliff notes: we found the lost lake, so it is no longer a mystery were to find it.  

    Sure sign of summer, although you can see clouds in the sky.   All of the local fountains are being turned on.  This is in Ferndale right by the river.  We roamed around in and around Pioner Park a few daze back.   Again the full blog is in the works. 

 This is Mr Max down by the bay.   Yesterday in fact.  Notice how he is on a leash?  I always keep him on a leash.  Because it's the law, because I am not sure how he will handle other dogs, and because the few times I have let him run free, he kept running.   I have mentioned this before, and will again--in fact there are several "mini rants" about poor pet owners already.   But yesterday this topic hit home twice while around Bellingham.   Once while at Laurel Park near WWU campus.   None of the dogs that visited were on a leash.   I did not have Max with me at this point, and was just wearing out the kiddos while my wife was at a docter appointment.  I do not care how well you know your dog---he will not act good 100% of the time.   And I do not appreciate your dog as much as you do.  I do not want it licking me, biting me, or sniffing my crotch.  I am at the park for the kids.   

     The secound --more annoying example is while we were down by the bay.   This time we had Max with us.  And no one else magically had there dogs on leashes.  All of the dogs played very nicely with Max.  In fact he might have made a new girl friend.   But I still had to pull at him to continue down the trail.   Followed by others dogs when we first took off.   The last dog we encountered was not so friendly.  And Max was instantly ready to add some bite marks to this unleashed dog.   The owner had just informed me at how well her dog reacted around other mutts.   "As I can see"  was my first response.  As I was pulling my leashed dog down the trail, to our car, I pointed at the near by park signs with my other hand.  And tried to inform the lady that most of them said to keep dogs on a leash.   As she argued this point, I informed her how much I love pulling my dog off all of the other dogs thats owners just let them roam free.  I am sure this section will land in my Bellingham blog---and I hope with more readership this owner and many others will read my rants and think a little bit next time they voyage out.   Hahahahaha---OK I just made myself laugh a little on that one!   Later today I hope to post a new exploring blog!  And tommorow brings back my "mini rants"   this one will deal with bad pet parents --who in my eyes basically abuse there pets.   I hope you read all about it, and have insight----for or against my thoughts.  You can post your thoughts any time on this blog.   Or if you have Facebook   please check out my new page!  Wyoming Jack/Bobble Head's Blogs Exploring Bellingham & Whatcom county

I am more annoyed that the Cookie Monster no longer eats cookies.  He eats healthy crap.  C does not stand for carrots you Mitches!   I watched him all the time, and did not grow fat from eating to many cookies.  I grew fat from drinking double the amount of beer, because it was light beer!
