Writers note:
This is another blog post first published 10/31/2012 on my other sight. All about exploring Bellingham, Washington and Whatcom county. This marks post #55 to the new sight. Please share the links if you enjoy what you see!! http://exploreb-ham.blogspot.com/

At the moment my family and I live in Fairhaven. It is a wonderful place to call home. We will be joining the masses of lil goblins and such--and trick or treating the town tonight. The town also offers many great views and pictures! MANY of my past blog posts start in this town. Please spend this rainy day reading a few. And than post comments on my new Facebook page. All thoughts help me improve!! Wyoming Jack/Bobble Head's Blogs Exploring Bellingham & Whatcom county

Just across from the first picture is this great church.

The mountain in the back ground has been calling to me.

I need to explore it soon!!

Busy spider---just down from our house.

A few local fall color shots.

More coming soon!!

On this day I than ventured down State Street

taking a left after Boulevard Park.

And parked by the water.

It always amazes me that the water is deep enough for this ship to be right off of downtown.

I first walked up the road to the bike/walk trail that leads back to Boulevard Park.

In the above picture you can just make out the same ship framed by weeds.

I believe this old building is now apartments.

To me it looks like an old castle.

Back down to the ocean view and the parking lot.

This has recently been added to the landscape.

I had to wait awhile to get a picture with no one sitting on the tall wood chair.

The water is super clear here.

And the coast line offers lots to explore.

My new buddy.

Next we explore my favorite local sunset pictures!

Cornwall Rose Garden/Beauty By The Bay!!

Good morning folks!! I have previously posted about wonderful Cornwall Park. This park offers some great play areas, trails, and picture opportunities. It joins the ranks of the many awesome parks in this area. And is currently my third favorite local park. Whatcom Falls park, *also posted about twice, now*---- and than Boulevard Park are my top favorites at the moment. I plan to publish an entire post just about local parks. But there are a ton of them around.

One of the many mini trails around Cornwall Park.

In this picture I am very happy because I have chips!

Why sit in the house?? Some of the best local exploring can be done in the rain!!

During the winter one can not wait for the rain to go away.

On these days--yes only a little over a week ago, it was actually sunny and bright outside!

Hard to imagine or recall as I sit here watching it down pour outside.

In my roaming -I ventured further down the road to the

beautiful Cornwall Rose Garden.

On this day the flowers were in full bloom!

I have since heard that in the middle of the night---

One can hold a flash light up to a flower for a few minutes--turn off the light

And than capture an awesome night shot.

But have not yet tried this.

Great tree on the out-skirts of the park.

Than it was time to venture to the bay! When is it not time to explore the bay>?
**Again -I have posted many times of bay trips and it's beauty, Please check these past posts out. Today, some new pictures!

This statue stands proud tribute to all of the sailors that never made it back home to there families. It is also amazingly hard to get a picture of, with out random people in the shot!

This boat will make it home safe and sound!

The view is amazing from every angle---no matter the weather.

Looking over the big city!
Mostly of WWU.

On a clear day-- you can also get some great views of Mt Baker.
Better shots of the mountain are on my To do list.
It is amazing to me how few days you can actually see the top of the mountain.

Three of the greatest buildings in Bellingham.

Calm water behind the Bellwater Motel.

As Always

**Happy Trails!!**

Next exploring......

Any guesses??

Another Week Of Exploring Bellingham!!

In the next few days I hope to get some new fall pictures around the area. I have shared some of my favorites in recent posts past. But have a few more areas to explore before the wind claims all of the wonderful colors. I have heard the Mount Baker area is extra beautiful right now. I of course will have a full post about our family fun for Halloween. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween! I would add a dry night to my wishes, but this is Washington, so good luck with that. Another post coming very soon will be full of local web sights that I use all of the time to learn about all the events happening in our area. I have many new concepts and posts in the works!

My next post will show case some of my favorite sunset pictures. Mostly dealing with the bay.

All personal shots of mine.

I am thinking about selling some of my better shots in greeting card form, locally.

To view more of my pictures --and express interest in this idea--please visit my Facebook page

and let me know if you would be interested in any.

Today's post is all about exploring in the last week or so. Events and trips that are note worthy or have offered some great pictures, but not worthy of an entire blog post of there own. I hope you enjoy! Last week we ventured down by the bay -a favorite place to explore for us all. Our youngest ended up getting covered in mud and than getting hurt, so it turned into a short trip. Luckily mom was home to offer a healing band-aid and a kiss or two! I managed to snap some great shots before we ventured home.

Mr Max instantly needed to explore the bay water.

I have tons of pictures of this tree.

Next I need a fall picture of it and some when the snow flies.

View from under the rail road tracks.

Some pictures as we roamed around the pond that slowly trickles into the bay.

Don't jump!

Great place to collect sea shells

We returned that evening in an attempt to get some sunset pictures.

But the sun quickly disappeared behind the mountains.

I have posted bay pictures many times before.
But here are some more for your enjoyment!

Again around the pond.....

I will post my favorite sunset pictures very soon.

Max on the lookout!!

Further up the trail

Rest time!

Ninja!

Kool find on State Street

Three of the tallest and perhaps coolest buildings in town.

Last week my wife and I had the privilege to join our youngest's class on a field trip to Mt Baker Theatre.
In the off and on five years that I have lived here, I have never been inside the theatre.

We along with many of the local grade school's enjoyed the first school performance of the season.

It was great. Sadly I did not take any pictures while in the building.

But it is an awesome building both inside and out.

And the performance was outstanding!

Lastly today I must brag that Halloween --tomorrow marks seven years of knowing my wife.

We will be focusing on the kiddos and "screening" there candy tomorrow.

We lock ourselves in our room and go through the candy and keep some of the best stuff.

Compisation for walking them all over town.

We did manage to sneak away last week on a night with no kids.

Were we enjoyed a great evening at the Silver Reef Casino.

The view from our room.

The huge new addition to the casino going in.
