       Greetings this star void night!  I am outside on our car port  where it is still hot, but not as hot.  Noticing how few stars can be seen from my sitting point.  I hope everyone had a great extended labor day weekend.  I actually had Labor Day off work, but I believe it was more because my bosses did not want to pay me the time and a half holiday pay.  Hopefully I am going on a picture filled adventure tomorrow.  And finally taking a trip to Wilcox.  It is just down the road, but I have not had the time or means to do this for awhile now.  I enjoy going to the bank there with my tip cash, because that branch has very little business and the workers are actually glad for something to do.  I have heard about a lake in the area, and wish to check out if it is a lake --by non desert dwellers definition or more of a runoff of water that piles up.  Maybe it is a run off of sewer water and glows in the dark!   I have also just read about a state park just past Wilcox and think I need to check that out.  Plus my sights are running out of current pictures to share.   Plus it will make a new post or two for my Exploring page. 
     http://exarizonagobensonbobcats.blogspot.com/    Lots of posts and pictures in the works for this page.  And loads of past posts to roam through.  I will hopefully have the Wilcox post up soon.  Next I believe I am finally going to do a post about living in Benson three years now.  Some how.  The good the bad and the ugly.  But mostly some thoughts and a lot of pictures.  And a very long post poned post from further down the road.  That takes us to Salem Oregon.  The trip was not under the best circumstances by any means, so I have been holding off on posting.  Plus it is not an Arizona post.  

      Hopefully some what soon I will also have several blog posts about my trip back home.  It has been to long since I have been there, and wish to take a full loop and see much of my family.  And of course get tons of pictures.  It has also been way to long since I have had a road trip.  I was talking with my buddy about our road trip/move to Arizona the first time I came this way, years ago.  And I must say it was a very bad trip at the time.   But looking back now, it was a very good road trip full of memories.  And of course break downs.   What do I recall most about the trip now, besides hitchhike and such?  Jumping in a freezing ass cold pool at our motel one night--- Exploring Ogden UT while our truck got "fixed" --all day. Having all of my items in the  back of my truck, a truck I could not lock, and having no one even open the back door to look at them --or even think about stealing them.  That's when you know you really have high class stuff  right there!!  Being lost in the deep desert for hours looking for the Wally World store my now wife worked at.   And having a cop pull sideways in the middle of an off ramp, ahead of us, lights flashing.   I have never had a cop in front of me pull me over before.  And my truck was completely illegal the full trip.   Soon found out he was not pulling me over, but picking up objects from the middle of the  road.  Still a minor heart attack for me though.   On this very page I have also been greatly slacking on story telling and have some great stories to tell  and maybe re tell   if you actually read this page.  But not tonight.   This has already become to wordy.

  And now for my picture of the day.   I have been slacking on this  and it usually is a scenic picture.  It usually is a more current picture.  Although one is not to incredibly old.  We have very few pictures of our oldest.  And almost 0 were he is actually smiling    but they usually all come out great shots!  Like this one!   Now 15 going on being a driver this boy scout is about a man.  A great man at that.  But in this shot he is just bein'.  Or is a hood ornament.  Take your pick.

           As I sit outside on this surprisingly cool -weather wise- day, yet another storm is starting to set in.  When I came home from work last night, or early this morning, it was 66 outside.  Almost cold for the desert.  But in all fairness when it is 150 in the shade much of the year, when temperatures start to drop, in comparison it feels chilly.  And I know chilly---without comparison.   I did grow up in Wyoming and all.  I even drove through a long patch of dense fog last night.  I have complained about how no one here can drive in the rain.  Again yesterday it proved that many of the local drivers did not know what to do with rain drops hitting there windshields instead of full on rain, so they just chose to wreck there cars.  But fog here is even worse.   Drivers some how think it is better to turn on there hazard lights.   This causes an effect for other drivers way harder to see through than the actual fog.  At least in my eyes.

     So after months of threatening --I got a real phone.  As in a smart phone.  I know I have talked before about not wanting anything smarter than me.  Which some days  before coffee, includes actual rocks.  My other phone was a very old school flip phone that only did what a phone is supposed to do.  Sometimes.   It is very strange having a new phone.   One that works most of the time.  Although with all the features and smart ness and things to search it seems the battery is never full.

Two Amazing AVA And Concert Filled Nights

                     So the amazing casino I work at has concerts this time of year all the time.  The selections are all over the board with even Snoop Dog coming to town next month.  There amapathereter is as amazing as the workers.   Recently I enjoyed two concerts here.  One with our oldest  and one just a few days ago with my beautiful wife as we snuck away from the kids and the small town of Benson and had a very needed date night.   Before I go with the new post    Last year our oldest and I snuck to the AVA to see Z Z Top.    Here is that past post  in case you missed it.  http://exarizonagobensonbobcats.blogspot.com/2014/09/z-z-top-concert.html

                       

 

 

I am looping these two posts together because they have the same theme and because I do not have very many pictures from either.    I also hope that these posts are seen in a very positive light by all   especially my bosses.  Any way you look at it -we had an amazing time!!

Last month our oldest and I snuck away to the Fall Out Boy concert.

I let him pick any concert he wanted to go in the long line up, for a late birthday present. 

And this is the one he picked. 

I have to admit this really was not my cup of coffee and I love coffee!

I only found I knew two of the songs in the full line up.

BUT they put on a really good show.

With fireworks, a huge crowd following, and fire balls!

All night I attempted to film the fire balls, but alas, never did manage to snap a picture.

 

 

Just inside the great entry way   was the largest line I have seen in a great time.  Maybe ever.

This line was to purchase T shirts and such.

And we noticed that some people were in line for the full concert. 

 

 

 

 

 

  A dj played as it grew darker. 

 

And than around seven o clock it was time for the opening act.  

A very energetic Hoody Allen.

 

 

 

And the crowd went wild!

 

 

 

I have to admit that the thing that bugged me most about this concert

was not the noise or the angry teens, or the even angrier  30 somethings in the crowd.

It was that everyone seemed to be watching the live concert through a screen.

Yes I took some pictures   but I than enjoyed the thrill of being at a live venue.

Many  in fact almost all around us seemed to tape the entire show on the phone or device.

Why bother?   Just save your cash and watch them on TV or your device?

 

 

 

About this point the band let out a great deal of weighted floating balls. 

And the crowd went nuts!

Even more so when the balls started hitting the near by cactus and popping!

 

 

 

 

All in all it was a great experience.  Although the concert was on a Sunday night

with school the next night so we had to hurry home.

We did find that if one parks near the main entrance of the casino 

they can avoid the rush to leave.

When the new traffic lights are lit up   most of this pain and gridlock should

diminish.

 

 

About a week ago my wife and I ventured here again.

This time to sneak away from the kids, eat well, gamble a little, enjoy each other-maybe

and watch Weird Al live.

 

 

Obviously a whole different ball game!

 

I was pleasantly surprised with how good this show was.

I had never seen him in concert just on TV.

And knew he was wild for sure.

The bits, comedy, and wardrobe changes were perfectly timed.

To make it a great experience. 

 

 

Right here I was trying to snap a picture  and this man stepped in front of me just

as the flash went off. 

I apologize for blinding you   but it was overly funny to me.

 

 

Completely different feel and crowd from the last show.

But when he pulled out some of his old classics 

the crowd went wild!

No one is safe  present or from the past.

 

 

In deep thought I am sure.

 

We were very pleased that he did not pull out his newer "hit"  stuck in the drive through.

I have listened to the full 11 minute "song" and it was torture.  

Find it in case you like it!

 

At one point he started signing his version of morbid pick up lines.

He jumped off the stage   something most artists never do  

actually he started the show by walking around the whole property and than through the crowd.

And than started singing his love thoughts to random ladies in the seating area.

At empty chairs he would jump on them and attempt to dry hump the chairs.

The people around all of this went wild  cheering, getting pictures, and of course taping it all.

 

 

 

I had forgotten that he also sings

He came out singing this song on a Segway.

I broke my rule about hating people at concerts behind a screen and taped most of the song.
